Designed Lewis Acid–Base Passivation for High Performance Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Silicon's high cost and long energy payback time remain major barriers to the global expansion of solar power. In contrast, metal–halide perovskites offer abundant, solution‐processable absorbers, and have achieved efficiencies of 25%–30%, positioning them as strong competitors to silicon.

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Simple Proofs of Classical Explicit Reciprocity Laws on Curves Using Determinant Groupoids over an Artinian Local Ring

open access: yes, 2007
The notion of determinant groupoid is a natural outgrowth of the theory of the Sato Grassmannian and thus well-known in mathematical physics. We briey sketch here a version of the theory of determinant groupoids over an artinian local ring, taking ...

Measurement Based Reconfigurations in Optical Ring Metro Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Single-hop wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical ring networks operating in packet mode are one of themost promising architectures for the design of innovative metropolitan network (metro) architectures. They permit a cost-effective design, with

Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Controlled Engineering of 2D Alkali‐Iron‐Chloride Compounds and Lateral Quantum Heterostructures Within Confined Graphene Nanoreactors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents a programmable atomic engineering strategy for 2D materials using Å‐scale nanoreactors formed by bilayer graphene (BLG) intercalation. A new class of alkali‐iron‐chloride compounds, along with lateral heterostructures composed of monolayer alkali halides and iron chlorides, is revealed.

Current-Induced Crossover of Flux Periodicity from h/2e to h/e in a Superconducting Nb Nano-Ring

open access: yes, 2018
Magnetoresistance measurements in a granular Nb nanoring reveal current-induced crossover between two distinct quantum coherence effects. At low bias currents, Cooper-pair coherence is manifested by Little–Parks oscillations with flux periodicity of h/2e.
