Discussions on Perturbed Quasi-Metric Spaces

open access: yes
The main goal of this manuscript is to introduce the notion of perturbed quasi-metric spaces. Furthermore, it shall discuss the existence of basic fixed point theorems in the setting of perturbed quasi-metric ...

Self‐Cooling Molecular Spin Qudits

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A material made of [GdEr] molecular dimers can encode a qudit and perform as a magnetic refrigerant. Microwave resonant pulses coherently manipulate its 16 spin states, while direct demagnetization measurements cool the material and a device down to temperatures below 1 K.

The structure of extended real-valued quasi-metric spaces

open access: yes, 2018
ThesisAn extended quasi-metric q on a nonempty set X without any assumed structure is a distance functional that satis es the usual properties of a quasi-metric except that it can assume values of in nity, in addition to non-negative real values. Given

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Common Fixed Points of Fuzzy Mappings in Quasi-Pseudo Metric and Quasi-Metric Spaces

open access: yes
In this paper, we prove common fixed point theorems for fuzzy mappings satisfying a new inequality initiated by Constantin(1991) in complete quasi-pseudo metric space and we also obtain some new common fixed point theorems for a pair of fuzzymappings on ...

Self‐Assembled Inorganic Nanomembrane Tubes: Rolled‐Up Piezoelectrics for Microacoustic Wave‐Based Actuators and Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a self‐assembly process to generate free‐standing piezoelectric nanomembranes, forming ultracompact microtubular acoustic wave sensors and actuators. The miniaturized 3D piezoelectric platform reported in this work can be applied in telecommunication, energy harvesting, and acoustofluidics. Moreover, the 3D self‐assembly can add
