Time‐Resolved Magnetization Switching Dynamics Driven by Orbital Torques

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Du et al. reveal nanosecond magnetization switching driven by orbital currents using time‐resolved Hall detection. The measurements separate domain nucleation from domain wall propagation and show that Joule heating strongly assists switching by lowering energy barriers.

On a theorem of Baire about lower semicontinuous functions

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2008
A theorem of Baire concerning the approximation of lower semicontinuous real valued functions defined on a metric space, by increasing sequences of continuous functions is extended to the "nonsymmetric" case, i.e. for quasi-metric spaces.

Bandgap‐Engineered AlGaAs/GaAs Heterostructures for Wavelength‐Selective Dual‐Polarity Photoelectrochemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bandgap‐engineered AlGaAs/GaAs heterostructures exhibit wavelength‐selective dual‐polarity photoelectrochemistry, switching from photocathodic to photoanodic response depending on excitation wavelength. The polarity transition is governed by band‐selective absorption, built‐in electric‐field‐driven carrier transport, and interfacial charge‐transfer ...

Review of Thermally Activated Twisted Coiled Polymer Actuators: A Materials Science Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermally activated twisted and coiled polymer actuators (TCPAs) combine lightweight design, large deformation, and scalable fabrication for soft robotic and wearable applications. This review connects polymer structure, processing history, helix geometry, and thermomechanical characterization to actuator performance, highlighting current challenges in

A new concept of (?, Fd)-contraction on quasi metric space

open access: yes, 2016
In the present paper, we introduce a new concept of (?, Fd)-contraction on quasi metric space. Then we provide some new fixed point theorems for such type mappings on left K, left M and left Smyth-complete quasi metric spaces.

Mesoscale Domain Evolution Mechanism during Alternating Current (AC) Poling of Relaxor Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric domain variants that are energetically equivalent are expected to remain preserved during polarization reversal. However, phase‐field simulations reveal that inclined domain walls in relaxor ferroelectrics can undergo irreversible elimination during alternating current poling through a proximity effect driven by long‐range elastic ...

Vector random fields on the arccos-quasi-quadratic metric space

open access: yes
Click on the DOI link to access this article at the publishers website (may not be free). An arccos-quasi-quadratic metric is defined as the composition of arccosine and quasi-quadratic functions over a subset of (Formula presented.) such as a ball, an ...

Structure‐Guided Dynamical Mechanics in Bioinspired Double Twisted Laminated Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores a dynamic mechanistic study of crack propagation and puncture testing via real‐time monitoring of crack initiation, propagation, and termination through nature‐inspired single and double twisted architectures fabricated from cellulose nanocrystals.

Extensions of semi-Lipschitz functions on quasi-metric spaces

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2001
The aim of this note is to prove an extension theorem for semi-Lipschitz real functions dened on quasi-metric spaces, similar to McShane extension theorem for real-valued Lipschitz functions dened on a metric space ([2], [4]).
