Workflow for Design of Experiments‐Based Modeling of Species Transport and Growth Kinetics in GaN Hydride Vapor Phase Epitaxy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel workflow for investigating hydride vapor phase epitaxy for GaN bulk crystal growth is proposed. It combines Design of experiments (DoE) with physical simulations of mass transport and crystal growth kinetics, serving as an intermediate step between DoE and experiments.

Predicting Health Impacts of the World Trade Center Disaster: 1. Halogenated hydrocarbons, symptom syndromes, secondary victimization, and the burdens of history [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The recent attack on the World Trade Center, in addition to direct injury and psychological trauma, has exposed a vast population to dioxins, dibenzofurans, related endocrine disruptors, and a multitude of other physiologically active chemicals arising ...

Repulsive Four-Body Interactions of $\alpha$ Particles and Quasi-Stable Nuclear $\alpha$-Particle Condensates in Heavy Self-Conjugate Nuclei

open access: yes, 2018
We study the effects of repulsive four-body interactions of $\alpha$ particles on nuclear $\alpha$-particle condensates in heavy self-conjugate nuclei using a semi-analytic approach, and find that the repulsive four-body interactions could decrease the ...

Quasi-stabilized hydration layers on muscovite mica under a thin water film grown from humid air [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
AbstractThe interfaces between solids and water films in air play fundamental roles in physicochemical phenomena, biological functions, and nano-fabrication. Though the properties of the interfaces have been considered to be irrelevant to the water film thickness, we found distinctive mechanical features of the interface between a cleaved muscovite ...

Enhancing Optoelectronic Properties in Phthalocyanine‐Based SURMOFs: Synthesis of ABAB Linkers by Avoiding Statistical Condensation with Tailored Building Blocks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel phthalocyanine (PC)‐based metal–organic framework (MOFs) is synthesized using ditopic PC linkers obtained through regioselective statistical condensation. The resulting MOF exhibits significant improvements in electronic absorption, thereby enhancing the material's performance in light harvesting and energy conversion.

Sensitivity of airborne-derived crop stress indices to the agricultural practices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
When acquired both in optical and thermal infrared domain, remotely sensed data can provide a wide range of information about the status of a crop. Several studies have demonstrated the utility of such information for the development of stress indices ...

Functors of Liftings of Projective Schemes

open access: yes, 2018
A classical approach to investigate a closed projective scheme $W$ consists of considering a general hyperplane section of $W$, which inherits many properties of $W$.

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Stability of Three- and Four-Body Coulomb Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We discuss the stability of three- and four-particle system interacting by pure Coulomb interactions, as a function of the masses and charges of the particles.
