The quasi-static method revisited

Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2008
Abstract The quasi-static method is a standard tool for the space–time solution of neutron transport problems in multiplying media. Its basic principle lies in a factorization of the angular flux into the product of two functions, ‘amplitude’ and ‘shape’, where the amplitude depends only on time (and contains the major part of the time-dependence ...

The Topology Optimization Methods on Quasi-Static Structural

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
Quasi-static structure in each configuration and load conditions may be static stiffness or frequency of a special vibration mode can be optimized to meet the design requirements. Considering the size disparity in stiffness and load conditions, the unit strain energy density as the unit of sensitivity is proposed as the basis of cell properties to ...

Quasi-static method for predicting link-level performance

Vehicular Technology Conference. IEEE 55th Vehicular Technology Conference. VTC Spring 2002 (Cat. No.02CH37367), 2003
In this paper, we investigate the performance of a quasi-static method used to predict link-level error performance in dynamic system simulations. Two flavors of the quasi-static approach are used to model the link characteristics: (a) static curves with fudge factors; and (b) short-term frame error curves. For the fudge factor based method, we examine

Quasi-static image method applied to bi-isotropic microstrip geometry

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1995
A generalization of the partial image method, applicable for static planar-layered problems, is used to form Green's functions for the layered structure involving bi-isotropic medium. The results are applied for the analysis of a microstrip transmission line assumed to support the quasi-TEM mode.

Discontinuous Galerkin Method for Nonlinear Quasi-Static Poroelasticity Problems

International Journal of Numerical Analysis and Modeling
Summary: This paper is devoted to a discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method for nonlinear quasi-static poroelasticity problems. The fully implicit nonlinear numerical scheme is constructed by utilizing DG method for the spatial approximation and the backward Euler method for the temporal discretization. The existence and uniqueness of the numerical solution

A METHOD FOR QUASI-STATIC ANALYSIS OF TOPOLOGICALLY VARIABLE LATTICE STRUCTURES

International Journal of Computational Methods, 2006
The proposed time-independent quasi-static approach for simulations of lattice structures with imperfections is based on integration of the Inverse Broyden's Method suitable for finding the equilibrium state for a large system of atoms interacting through strongly nonlinear potentials and the Recursive Inverse Matrix Algorithm (RIMA) capable of ...

Neutron kinetics of fluid–fuel systems by the quasi-static method

Annals of Nuclear Energy, 2004
The quasi-static method for the neutron kinetics of nuclear reactors is generalized for application to neutron multiplying systems fueled by a fluid multiplying material, typically a mixture of fissile molten salts. The method is derived by the application of factorization formulae for both the neutron density and the delayed precursor concentrations ...
