E-coil: an inverse boundary element method for a quasi-static problem

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 2010
Boundary element methods represent a valuable approach for designing gradient coils; these methods are based on meshing the current carrying surface into an array of boundary elements. The temporally varying magnetic fields produced by gradient coils induce electric currents in conducting tissues and so the exposure of human subjects to these magnetic ...

Self-help standing-up method based on quasi-static motion

2008 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Biomimetics, 2009
When supporting standing-up motion, a caregiver takes advantage of gravity force to make sufficient momentum without bearing heavy burden. The physical abilities or decision-making abilities decrease for many of elderly people who need care. We propose a self-help standing-up method for such people.

A METHOD FOR THE FORWARD MODELLING OF 3-D ELECTROMAGNETIC QUASI-STATIC PROBLEMS

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 2001
We present a solution method for solving electromagnetic problems in three dimensions in parameter regimes where the quasi-static approximation applies and the permeability is constant. Firstly, by using a potential formulation with a Coulomb gauge, we circumvent the ill-posed problem in regions of vanishing conductivity, obtaining an elliptic, weakly

Quasi-static image method applied to bi-isotropic microstrip geometry

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1995
A generalization of the partial image method, applicable for static planar-layered problems, is used to form Green's functions for the layered structure involving bi-isotropic medium. The results are applied for the analysis of a microstrip transmission line assumed to support the quasi-TEM mode.

Quasi-static Methods in Neutron Transport.

2012
The present work represents a little but valuable contribution to the advancement of the research in the field of the neutron kinetics of innovative nuclear reactors. As modern computer frames are becoming more and more performing and because the treatment of innovative nuclear reactor systems requires high accuracy results, the neutron transport ...
