The Discrepancy Between Simulation and Observation of Electric Fields in Collisionless Shocks
Recent time series observations of electric fields within collisionless shocks have shown that the fluctuating, electrostatic fields can be in excess of one hundred times that of the quasi-static electric fields.

Monte Carlo Based Method for Parallelizing Quasi-Static Time-Series Power System Simulations [PDF]
Both commercial and open source power system simulators run quasi-static time-series (QSTS) simulations sequentially. For yearlong high-resolution load profiles this sequential execution of load flows incurs long computation times. Parallelizing QSTS simulations on multiple processors is one possible way to reduce the computation time.

Strain localization and anisotropic correlations in a mesoscopic model of amorphous plasticity [PDF]
A mesoscopic model for shear plasticity of amorphous materials in two dimensions is introduced, and studied through numerical simulations in order to elucidate the macroscopic (large scale) mechanical behavior.

Advances in OpenDSS smart inverter modelling for quasi-static time-series simulations
The fleet of smart distributed energy resource (DER) inverters is expected to grow rapidly as a result of growing DER penetration levels and requirements in interconnection standards/rules such as IEEE Std 1547-2018. Smart inverters have the potential to help to maintain and/or enhance grid safety, reliability and customer affordability.
