Quasi-Static Time-Series PV Hosting Capacity Methodology and Metrics
2019 IEEE Power & Energy Society Innovative Smart Grid Technologies Conference (ISGT), 2019Distributed photovoltaic systems (DPV) can cause adverse grid impacts, including voltage or thermal violations. The installed capacity at which violations first occur and above which would require system upgrades is called the hosting capacity.

Impact of AMI Data Time Granularity on Quasi-Static Time-Series Load Flow Simulation
2020 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (T&D), 2020AMI data allows highly detailed representation of distribution system loads in quasi-static time-series load flow (QSTS) simulations but requires managing large data volumes. Reducing the time granularity of AMI data reduces the data volume but can harm the detail and accuracy of QSTS simulations.

In-line with smart-grid developments, the need for performing lengthy time domain simulations with intermittent power generation as well as the associated control is crucial. Due to complexity and integrity of practical power systems, it is not practical to analyze them using exact time domain models. In this paper, a new method using quasi-static time-

Time Series Analysis of Rapid GNSS Measurements for Quasi-static and Dynamic Bridge Monitoring
2019Since 1996, GPS and GNSS have been used to measure position and time on large structures, notably long span bridges. Receivers act simultaneously as dynamic deformation sensors. The use of high rate GNSS receivers to generate time displacement series—typically 10 Hz or greater—provides improvements in accuracy through both processing techniques and the

This paper focuses on developing a two-step load disaggregation method for conducting quasi-static time-series analysis using actual distribution feeder data. This can help utilities conduct power flow studies using smart meter measurements to assess the impact of high penetration of distributed energy resources.

The increasing deployment of distribution-connected photovoltaic (DPV) systems requires utilities to complete ever more complex interconnection studies. Relatively simple interconnection study methods worked well for low penetrations of photovoltaic systems, but more complicated quasistatic time-series (QSTS) analysis is required to make better ...

The response of low voltage networks with high penetration of PV systems to transmission network faults will, in the future, determine the overall power system performance during certain hours of the year. The WECC distributed PV system model (PVD1) is designed to represent small-scale distribution-connected systems.
