Initialised load‐flow analysis based on Lagrange polynomial approximation for efficient quasi‐static time‐series simulation

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2015
This study presents a developed formulation for solving the quasi‐static time‐series simulation in unbalanced power distribution systems. This simulation is very important for analysing a set of given daily load curves under various operating conditions.

Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

An annual quasi-static time-series simulation framework for enhanced transmission system expansion planning

open access: yes
The increasing integration of distributed energy resources (DERs), variable renewable energy sources, and emerging technologies presents new challenges for transmission system expansion planning (TSEP). Traditional snapshot-based and deterministic approaches are inadequate for capturing the temporal dynamics and operational constraints of modern power ...

Powering Nanocrystal‐Based Heat Engines With Light‐Emitting Metasurfaces That Influence Their Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurfaces and other structured photonic environments can dramatically modify the absorption and/or light emission of semiconductors. However, the consequences of these changes on the temperature of the system are not well understood. The authors address this problem for colloidal nanocrystals and leverage their findings to convert light into ...

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Low‐Profile, High‐Gain GRIN RF Lenses via Multi‐Material Vat Photopolymerization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate the opportunity of leveraging multi‐material vat photopolymerization printing to manufacture intricate lenses exhibiting permittivity gradients that can increase signal gain in transmitted radiofrequency signals in the X‐ and Ku‐bands. Lenses produced with more distinct low‐loss materials (up to 5) can deliver an 18 dB signal gain with a

3D‐Printed Piezoionic/Bioelectronic Hydrogel for Electro‐Metabolic Regulation of Osteogenic Differentiation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D‐printed piezoionic GPMx hydrogel enables stable electromechanical signal generation under mechanical loading, exhibiting long‐term durability and low fatigue. As a bioactive patch, it restores endogenous bioelectricity to stimulate osteogenesis via Ca2+ influx and mitochondrial activation, while simultaneously enabling label‐free alkaline ...

Testing for Dependence in Non-Gaussian Time Series Data [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper provides a general methodology for testing for dependence in time series data, with particular emphasis given to non-Gaussian data. A dynamic model is postulated for a continuous latent variable and the dynamic structure transferred to the non-

A partially linearized sigma point filter for latent state estimation in nonlinear time series models

open access: yes, 2010
A new technique for the latent state estimation of a wide class of nonlinear time series models is proposed. In particular, we develop a partially linearized sigma point filter in which random samples of possible state values are generated at the ...
