Property A, partial translation structures and uniform embeddings in groups
We define the concept of a partial translation structure T on a metric space X and we show that there is a natural C*-algebra C*(T) associated with it which is a subalgebra of the uniform Roe algebra C*u(X).

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Let C={Cα}α∈A∈[1;∞)A, A-index set. A quasi-triangular space (X,PC;A) is a set X with family PC;A={pα:X2→[0,∞), α∈A} satisfying ∀α∈A ∀u,v,w∈X {pα(u,w)≤Cα[pα(u,v)+pα(v,w)]}.

Stability in quasi-uniform spaces and the inverse problem
We study the concept of a stable quasi-uniform space due to D. Doitchivov. In particular quasi-pseudo-metric spaces (X,d) whose associated quasi-uniformities U(d) or U(d-1) are stable are ...

A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Studying the Impact of Initialization for Population-Based Algorithms with Low-Discrepancy Sequences
To solve different kinds of optimization challenges, meta-heuristic algorithms have been extensively used. Population initialization plays a prominent role in meta-heuristic algorithms for the problem of optimization.

Nearness and quasi-uniform structures
The concept of a locally right symmetric quasi-uniform space is introduced. Every symmetric topological space admits a locally right symmetric quasi-uniform structure.

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

The open-open topology for function spaces
Let (X,T) and (Y,T*) be topological spaces and let F⊂YX. For each U∈T, V∈T*, let (U,V)={f∈F:f(U)⊂V}. Define the set S∘∘={(U,V):U∈T and V∈T*}. Then S∘∘ is a subbasis for a topology, T∘∘ on F, which is called the open-open topology.

A topological space without a complete quasi-uniformity [PDF]
We show that an example of Burke and van Douwen has no complete quasi-uniformity. Moreover, we show that it is almost finitely-fully normal but not almost
