Quasi-uniformities: Reconciling domains with metric spaces
1988We show that quasi-metric or quasi-uniform spaces provide, inter alia, a common generalization of cpo's and metric spaces as used in denotational semantics. To accommodate the examples suggested by computer science, a reworking of basic notions involving limits and completeness is found to be necessary.

2016Chapter 1 deals with basic properties of the category of quasi-uniform spaces and its full subcategory Qut of transitive quasi-uniform spaces. Chapter 2 concerns Fletcher's construction. We extend the class of covers to which this construction may be applied and study the functoriality of the construction.

2016Over the last forty years much progress has been made in the investigation of the scale of a uniform space. In particular, Bushaw, Kent, Ramsey and Richardson published several articles concerning the scale of a uniform space. The aim of this dissertation is to begin a similar investigation into the scale of a quasi-uniform space.
