An integrated design of quasi-zero stiffness mechanism

Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2016
Nonlinear Quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) mechanisms were studied to overcome the weakness of linear isolators. This paper presents an integrated design of the QZS mechanism. First, various types of QZS vibration mechanisms are analyzed and a generalized model for QZS mechanisms is derived.

A torsion–translational vibration isolator with quasi-zero stiffness

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2019
In this paper, a torsion–translational quasi-zero-stiffness (TT QZS) isolator with convex ball–roller mechanisms was proposed to attenuate the torsion and translational vibrations along shaft systems simultaneously. The mathematical model of the isolator was established, based on which the static characteristics of the isolator were analyzed and the ...

A multi-dimensional quasi-zero-stiffness mechanical metamaterial with different directional vibration isolation capabilities

Smart materials and structures (Print)
To address the issue that traditional structures might inhibit the propagation of elastic waves only in one direction, a multi-dimensional (MD) quasi-zero-stiffness (QZS) mechanical metamaterial with multi-directional vibration isolation capability is ...

Vibration transmissibility of piezoelectric quasi-zero stiffness metastructures with linear and nonlinear shunts

Smart materials and structures (Print)
This study investigates the dynamics of a piezoelectric quasi-zero stiffness metastructure controlled by linear and nonlinear shunts. An equivalent lumped-mass model of the metastructure with shunts is developed.

Recent Advances in Quasi-Zero-Stiffness Vibration Isolation Systems

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
The quasi-zero-stiffness vibration isolation system has witnessed significant development due to the pressing demands for low frequency and ultra-low frequency vibration isolation. In this study, the isolation theory and the characteristic of the quasi-zero-stiffness vibration isolation system are illustrated.

Spectrum reconstruction of quasi-zero stiffness floating raft systems

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2016
Abstract Chaos control can be utilized to reform the response spectra of a dynamic system, potentially useful for the acoustic reconstruction of underwater vehicles. Introduction of the quasi-zero stiffness (QZS) isolators into the chaotification system can greatly reduce the emission of vibration signals from vehicles.

A tunable quasi-zero-stiffness vibration isolator (QZS-VI) with magnetorheological elastomer (MRE)

Smart materials and structures (Print)
This paper presents a field-tunable quasi-zero stiffness vibration isolator (QZS-VI), which is beneficial for broadening the frequency bandwidth for low-frequency mitigation. The proposed QZS-VI was constructed by embedding a magnetorheological elastomer

Enhancing galloping-based energy harvesting through expanded quasi-zero-stiffness region

Smart materials and structures (Print)
In recent years, quasi-zero-stiffness (QZS) structures have been utilized in designing galloping piezoelectric energy harvesters (GPEHs) to produce large vibration responses and high output power.
