The stochastic quasi-steady-state assumption: Reducing the model but not the noise [PDF]
Highly reactive species at small copy numbers play an important role in many biological reaction networks. We have described previously how these species can be removed from reaction networks using stochastic quasi-steady-state singular perturbation ...

The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

Road to entire insulation for resonances from a forced mechanical system
The effective solution to avoid machinery damage caused by resonance has been perplexing the field of engineering as a core research direction since the resonance phenomenon was discovered by Euler in 1750. Numerous attempts have been performed to reduce

Local Thermal Conductivity Patterning in Rotating Lattice Crystals of Anisotropic Sb2S3
Microscale control of thermal conductivity in Sb2S3 is demonstrated via laser‐induced rotating lattice crystals. Thermal conductivity imaging reveals marked thermal transport anisotropy, with the c axis featuring amorphous‐like transport, whereas in‐plane directions (a, b) exhibit 3.5x and 1.7x larger thermal conductivity.

Non-universal ordering of spin and charge in stripe phases
We study the interplay of topological excitations in stripe phases: charge dislocations, charge loops, and spin vortices. In two dimensions these defects interact logarithmically on large distances.

A multi-level interface model for damaged masonry [PDF]
The aim of the present work is to propose a new micro-mechanical model in the context of the deductive approach used to derive interface models. This model, based on a previous study introduced previously by A. Rekik and F.

Frictional phenomena within a quasi zero stiffness vibration device [PDF]

The ultrahard teeth of mollusks that feed on rocky substrates contain a wear‐resistant coating on their surfaces consisting of densely packed mesocrystalline magnetic nanoparticles within an organic matrix. These coatings display significant hardness and toughness through their highly controlled mesocrystalline architectures.

Vibration isolation performance analysis of double layer vibration isolation system
[Objectives] Studying the influence of the system parameters of a quasi-zero stiffness isolator on vibration isolation performance can provide a key direction for the application of quasi-zero stiffness isolation in vibration isolation systems.[Methods ...
