Quasi-Toroidal Oscillations in Rotating Relativistic Stars

open access: yes, 1997
Quasi-toroidal oscillations in slowly rotating stars are examined in the framework of general relativity. The oscillation frequency to first order of the rotation rate is not a single value even for uniform rotation unlike the Newtonian case.

Photonic Time Crystals and Time‐Varying Electromagnetic Metamatter: A New Direction for Ultrafast Tunable Photonic and Microwave Materials and Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Photonic time crystals (PTCs) are systems in which electromagnetic parameters are modulated periodically in time, producing momentum bandgaps via temporal scattering rather than spatial Bragg processes. This review examines the theoretical frameworks, modeling, and computational tools for time‐varying media, and summarizes experimental demonstrations ...

Phase Diagrams and Piezoelectric Properties of Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN Heterostructural Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates ferroelectricity and piezoelectric properties improvement of quaternary wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films, guided by density functional theory calculations. Wurtzite Al1−x−yScxGdyN${\rm Al}_{1-x-y}{\rm Sc}_x{\rm Gd}_y{\rm N}$ films have a high optical bandgap, enhanced piezoelectric ...

Rod Origami (RodOri) Spring Metamaterials for Tunable Vibration Control via Tailored Structural Instabilities

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rod Origami (RodOri) springs harness snap‐through instabilities of pre‐stressed curved rods with geometrically programmable buckling behavior. Integrating RodOri springs with distinct geometries yields multistable metamaterials that undergo stepwise reconfiguration via sequential snapping, achieving wide‐range tunability of stiffness and resonance ...

Finite element analysis of a constructional column on the out-of-plane performance of the damaged steel frame-infilled wall

open access: yesScientific Reports
To solve the construction complexities of the cast-in-situ constructional column, a fabricated constructional column technology was proposed. Finite element models of a steel frame-infilled wall without a constructional column, with a cast-in-situ ...

A Generative Neuro‐Symbolic AI for Protein Sequence Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce EffieDes, a neuro‐symbolic framework coupling deep learning‐based fitness landscape parameterization with exact automated reasoning. Unlike greedy sampling, EffieDes identifies sequences that globally optimize fitness while satisfying intricate design constraints.

Experimental and Numerical Study of the Seismic Behavior of Single-Plane Trussed CFSST Composite Column Frames

open access: yesBuildings
A trussed concrete-filled square steel tubular (CFSST) composite column frame is proposed for multi-story residential buildings. The frame provides high lateral resistance and can be integrated within wall systems.

Gabor Frames for Quasi-Periodic Functions and Polyanalytic Spaces on the Flat Cylinder

open access: yesJournal of Fourier Analysis and Applications
Abstract We develop an alternative approach to the study of Fourier series, based on the Short-Time-Fourier Transform (STFT) acting on $$L_{\nu }^{2}(0,1)$$
