Duality Theorems for Convex and Quasiconvex Set Functions [PDF]

open access: yesSN Operations Research Forum, 2020
This article examines duality in convex and quasiconvex mathematical programming. The first two sections present the necessary background definitions and notations, followed by an examination of Lagrange duality for convex set functions. The fourth section moves on to study surrogate duality involving convex and quasiconvex set functions.

Dynamic Incentives in Incompletely Specified Environments

open access: yesEconometrica, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 375-406, March 2026.
Consider a repeated interaction where it is unknown which of various stage games will be played each period. This framework separates the basic logic of intertemporal incentives from the requirement that any given strategy profile yields a well‐defined payoff vector.

Combination theorems for Wise's power alternative

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We show that Wise's power alternative is stable under certain group constructions, use this to prove the power alternative for new classes of groups and recover known results from a unified perspective. For groups acting on trees, we introduce a dynamical condition that allows us to deduce the power alternative for the group from the power ...

A quasiconvex asymptotic function with applications in optimization

open access: yes, 2021
We introduce a new asymptotic function, which is mainly adapted to quasiconvex functions. We establish several properties and calculus rules for this concept and compare it to previous notions of generalized asymptotic functions.

Relaxed-Inertial Proximal Point Type Algorithms for Quasiconvex Minimization

open access: yes, 2022
International audienceWe propose a relaxed-inertial proximal point type algorithm for solving optimization problems consisting in minimizing strongly quasiconvex functions whose variables lie in finitely dimensional linear subspaces. A relaxed version of

Study of (p, q)‐Symmetric Starlike Functions of Order η

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
In the field of geometric function theory, we use the (p, q)‐differential operator in the complex unit disk to describe a novel class Sp,q∗∗η of symmetrical starlike functions of order η. Several interesting properties of functions belonging to the class Sp,q∗∗η are examined, such as growth, distortion, and convolution characteristics.

Equivalence of Robust Multiobjective Bilevel Decision Problem Under Multiple Perturbation Sets

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The robust multiobjective bilevel decision problem (RMBDP) based on worst‐case conditional value at risk (WCVaR) is a bilevel decision model composed of multiple loss objectives of upper‐ and lower‐level decision‐makers under multiple perturbation sets in a concave probability density distribution function cluster.

Optimizing condition numbers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we study the problem of minimizing condition numbers over a compact convex subset of the cone of symmetric positive semidefinite $n\times n$ matrices. We show that the condition number is a Clarke regular strongly pseudoconvex function.

Connectedness and Contractibility of Solutions in Set Optimization Under Set Less Order Relations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study establishes the topological properties of solution sets in set optimization, focusing on their connectedness and contractibility. Utilizing the arcwise convexity and lower semicontinuity characteristics derived from scalarization techniques, we initially prove the connectedness of solution sets containing both weak and standard approximate ...

On the infimum of a quasiconvex vector function over an intersection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We give sufficient conditions for the infimum of a quasiconvex vector function f over an intersection ⋂i∈IRi to agree with the supremum of the infima of f over the Ri ...
