Some remarks on quasiconvexity and rank-one convexity

open access: yes, 1996
We explore some necessary conditions for quasiconvexity in an attempt to show that rank-one convexity does not imply quasiconvexity when the target space for deformations is two- dimensional. An interesting construction is presented, showing how rank-one

Dynamic Incentives in Incompletely Specified Environments

open access: yesEconometrica, Volume 94, Issue 2, Page 375-406, March 2026.
Consider a repeated interaction where it is unknown which of various stage games will be played each period. This framework separates the basic logic of intertemporal incentives from the requirement that any given strategy profile yields a well‐defined payoff vector.

Quasiconvexity at the boundary and concentration effects generated by gradients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We characterize generalized Young measures, the so-called DiPerna–Majda measures which are generated by sequences of gradients. In particular, we precisely describe these measures at the boundary of the domain in the case of the ...

A dual generalization of convex functions

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2007
As it is well known, the convexity property of a function may be described by the quasiconvexity property of all "the dual perturbations" of this function.

Combination theorems for Wise's power alternative

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We show that Wise's power alternative is stable under certain group constructions, use this to prove the power alternative for new classes of groups and recover known results from a unified perspective. For groups acting on trees, we introduce a dynamical condition that allows us to deduce the power alternative for the group from the power ...

Quasiconvexity and PDE constraints: analysis and applications

open access: yes, 2022
In this thesis we focus on questions of stability, existence and uniqueness for PDE con- strained problems in both dynamics and statics under appropriate convexity conditions.

Quasiconvexity and Density Topology [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Mathematical Bulletin, 2014
AbstractWe prove that if f : ℝN → ℝ̄ is quasiconvex and U ⊂ ℝN is open in the density topology, then supU ƒ = ess supU f ; while infU ƒ = ess supU ƒ if and only if the equality holds when U = RN: The first (second) property is typical of lsc (usc) functions, and, even when U is an ordinary open subset, there seems to be no record that they both hold ...

Study of (p, q)‐Symmetric Starlike Functions of Order η

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
In the field of geometric function theory, we use the (p, q)‐differential operator in the complex unit disk to describe a novel class Sp,q∗∗η of symmetrical starlike functions of order η. Several interesting properties of functions belonging to the class Sp,q∗∗η are examined, such as growth, distortion, and convolution characteristics.

Shape from focus and defocus:Convexity, quasiconvexity and defocus-invariant textures

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we analyze the convexity and the quasiconvexity of shape from focus/defocus and image restoration. We show that these problems are strictly quasiconvex for a family of Bregman's divergences, and in particular for least-squares.

Some Novel Inclusions for Interval‐Valued s‐Convex Functions in the Second Sense Involving Caputo–Fabrizio Integrals

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This paper investigates the class of interval‐valued s‐convex functions in the second sense sIVC2 using Caputo–Fabrizio CF integrals. Some generalizations of the Hermite–Hadamard HH‐type, Hermite–Hadamard–Fejér HHF‐type, and Hermite–Hadamard–Mercer HHM‐type inclusions involving the CF integrals are developed.
