Quasielastic neutron scattering by hydrogen in niobium
Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1970Abstract The diffusion of hydrogen in niobium has been studied by quasielastic neutron scattering measuring the width of the quasi-elastic line as a function of the scattering vector. The measurements have been performed at concentrations of 3·2 at.% at 200° and 300°C, and at 33 at.% hydrogen between 100° to 300°C for many temperatures, especially ...

Quasielastic and inelastic neutron scattering from AgPO3AgI glass☆
Solid State Ionics, 1986A quasielastic neutron scattering experiment was performed on the fast ionic conductor AgPO3-Agl, which is a vitreous electrolyte. This experiment was performed on the time-of-flight spectrometer IN 6 of the Institut Laue-Langevin in Grenoble, with the following parameters: λ=5.1 A; 1.25 A ...

Quasielastic and inelastic neutron scattering on hydrated calcium silicate pastes
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2004Using the inverse geometry spectrometer QENS at the Intense Pulsed Neutron Source of the Argonne National Laboratory, we collected quasielastic and inelastic neutron scattering spectra of hydrated tricalcium and dicalcium silicate, the main components of ordinary Portland cement.

Quasielastic neutron scattering and super-protonic conductors
Solid State Ionics, 1993Abstract The present “state of art” of quasielastic incoherent neutron scattering (QINS) methods is reviewed, with special emphasis on the analysis of experiments concerning the diffusive motion of protons in solid-state protonic conductors. Models for uncorrelated and correlated diffusion, including local and long-range aspects of the motion are ...

Quasielastic neutron scattering in glass forming viscous liquids
Transport Theory and Statistical Physics, 1995Abstract Quasielastic neutron scattering measures ia a very direct way the decay of density correlations in the time range psec … nsec and on length scales of the order of angstroms. It seems therefore ideally suited to directly observe the critical dynamics predicted by the mode coupling theory of the glass transition.

Quasielastic neutron scattering from metals with paramagnetic impurities
Journal of Physics F: Metal Physics, 1972The quasielastic neutron scattering cross section for paramagnetic impurities in metallic hosts is shown to exhibit logarithmic anomalies. The expressions for the quasielastic cross section, as derived by a generalized perturbation calculation, are dominated by the impurity spin correlation function.

Quasielastic neutron scattering study of silver selenium halides
Applied Physics A: Materials Science & Processing, 2002Both silver chalcogenides (Ag2S, Ag2Se, and Ag2Te) and silver halides (AgCl, AgBr, and AgI) are known to be fast-ion solids in which the silver ions can diffuse quickly in a sublattice formed by the other ions. To clarify whether mixtures of these materials (such as Ag3SeI) possess comparable properties and whether a systematic dependence on the cation-

Quasielastic neutron scattering study on disaccharide aqueous solutions
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 2001Quasielastic neutron scattering measurements performed at ISIS by the IRIS spectrometer (RAL, UK) reveal new perspectives for understanding the peculiarities of interactions between disaccharides and water. In particular the comparison between the homologous disaccharides trehalose, maltose and sucrose allows to put in evidence that, although the ...

Quasielastic neutron scattering in liquid Ca0.4K0.6(NO3)1.4
Physica B: Condensed Matter, 1995Time-of-flight measurements have been performed on the ionic system Ca0.4K0.6(NO3)1.4 in the equilibrium liquid phase, in order to determine the temperature and wavenumber dependences of the quasielastic line width. The quasielastic neutron scattering has been examined by convoluting the resolution function with three different models, Lorentzian ...
