The SuSA Model for Neutrino Oscillation Experiments: From Quasielastic Scattering to the Resonance Region [PDF]

open access: yesUniverse, 2021
High-precision studies of Beyond-Standard-Model physics through accelerator-based neutrino oscillation experiments require a very accurate description of neutrino–nucleus cross-sections in a broad energy region, going from quasielastic scattering up to ...

A wave-mechanical model of incoherent quasielastic scattering in complex systems. [PDF]

open access: yesProc Natl Acad Sci U S A, 2014
Significance Quasielastic incoherent neutron scattering (QENS) is a key tool for the exploration of complex systems, such as liquids, polymers, glasses, and biomolecules.

Probing surface diffuseness of nucleus-nucleus potential with quasielastic scattering at deep sub-barrier energies [PDF]

open access: yesPhys.Rev. C73 (2006) 034607, 2005
We perform a systematic study on the surface property of nucleus-nucleus potential in heavy-ion reactions using large-angle quasielastic scattering at energies well below the Coulomb barrier. At these energies, the quasielastic scattering can be well described by a single-channel potential model.

Quasielastic neutron scattering from two dimensional antiferromagnets at a finite temperature [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. B 83, 094426 (2011), 2010
We consider frequency dependence of the neutron scattering amplitude from a two-dimensional quantum antiferromagnet. It is well known that the long range order disappears at any finite temperature and hence the elastic neutron scattering Bragg peak is transformed to the quasielastic neutron scattering spectrum ~dw/w.

Quasielastic charged-current neutrino scattering in the scaling model with relativistic effective mass [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. D 97, 116006 (2018), 2018
We use a recent scaling analysis of the quasielastic electron scattering data from $^{12}$C to predict the quasielastic charge-changing neutrino scattering cross sections within an uncertainty band. We use a scaling function extracted from a selection of the $(e,e')$ cross section data, and an effective nucleon mass inspired by the relativistic mean ...

Radiative tail from the quasielastic peak in deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons off polarized He-3 [PDF]

open access: yesJ.Phys.G26:1389-1396,2000, 2000
The contribution of the radiative tail from the quasielastic peak to low order radiative correction to deep inelastic scattering of polarized leptons by polarized $^3$He was calculated within the sum rules formalism and $y$-scaling hypothesis. Numerical analysis was carried out under the conditions of HERMES experiment.

Effective Spectral Function for Quasielastic Scattering on Nuclei [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2014
Spectral functions that are used in neutrino event generators to model quasielastic (QE) scattering from nuclear targets include Fermi gas, Local Thomas Fermi gas (LTF), Bodek-Ritchie Fermi gas with high momentum tail, and the Benhar-Fantoni two ...

Comment on "Dynamics in an oil-continuous droplet microemulsion as seen by quasielastic scattering techniques" by T. Hellweg et al [PDF]

open access: green, 2001
It is shown that the interpretation of quasielastic scattering experiments on droplet microemulsions in the paper by T. Hellweg et al., Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys., 2000, 2, 5168, contains serious shortcomings and should be revised.

Improved effective momentum approximation for quasielastic (e,e') scattering off highly charged nuclei [PDF]

open access: greenEurophys.Lett. 67 (2004) 753-759, 2004
We address the problem of including Coulomb distortion effects in inclusive quasielastic (e,e') reactions using an improved version of the effective momentum approximation. Arguments are given that a simple modification of the effective momentum approximation, which is no longer applicable in its original form in the case of highly charged nuclei ...

Quasielastic Versus Inelastic and Deep Inelastic Lepton Scattering in Nuclei at x > 1 [PDF]

open access: yesNucl.Phys. A618 (1997) 427-445, 1996
We have made a thorough investigation of the nuclear structure function W_2A in the region of 0.8 < x < 1.5 and Q^2 < 20 GeV^2, separating the quasielastic and inelastic plus deep inelastic contributions. The agreement with present experimental data is good giving support to the results for both channels.
