Quasielastic light scattering in silicon
Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1984An investigation of the origin of quasielastic light scattering from silicon surfaces, first observed by Sandercock (1972, 1978) is described. Measurements have been made of the dependence of the quasielastic spectrum upon temperature, wavevector, doping level, and polarisation and intensity of incident light.

Quasielastic light scattering in silicon
Physical Review B, 2000A dominant, broad central mode in the Brillouin spectrum of silicon was first reported by Sandercock in 1978. This feature was later ascribed to a two-phonon difference scattering process. However, the issue of quasielastic scattering in silicon has remained a major outstanding problem in Brillouin scattering, because similar central modes in other ...

Scaling in quasielastic electron scattering
AIP Conference Proceedings, 1988The inclusive (e, e’) cross section on various nuclei in the quasielastic region (Q2/2Mν∼1) has recently been measured in the range 0.25≤Q2≤3.1. Analysis of these data in the plane‐wave impulse approximation allows extraction of a scaling function related to the nucleon momentum distribution.

Role of strange quarks in quasielastic neutrino scattering
Physical Review C, 1993Confirming our previous proposal, we show within a continuum random-phase approximation calculation that the ratio of proton-to-neutron neutrino-induced quasielastic yield is a sensitive way to determine the strange quark axial form factor of the nucleon.

Quasielastic light scattering in oxygen-ion conductors
Physical Review B, 1986The spectra, temperature dependence, and depolarization ratio of the quasielastic light scattering (QELS) in cubic zirconia are studied in the frequency range 0.04--1000 cm and the temperature range 300--1500 K by using a tandem Fabry-Perot interferometer.

Quasielastic light scattering studies of tubulin aggregation
Archives of Biochemistry and Biophysics, 1987A quasielastic light scattering study of purified tubulin has resulted in a monomer diffusion coefficient of 6.0 X 10(-7) cm2/s. In an attempt to characterize the small tubulin oligomers which are predicted to form as intermediates in the self-assembly into double rings, magnesium ions (10 mM) were incorporated into the PG (10 mM NaPi, 0.1 mM GTP, pH 7.

A quasielastic light scattering detector for chromatographic analysis
Review of Scientific Instruments, 1993Very sensitive laser light scattering equipment has been designed to be used in conjunction with chromatographic column separation. The system is prealigned and fully computer controlled. It gives the hydrodynamic radius of the eluting particles on line during separation.

Inelastic and quasielastic neutron scattering
Current Opinion in Solid State and Materials Science, 1997Inelastic neutron scattering is a technique for measuring the dynamics of condensed matter on a microscopic scale. Several dynamical regimes can be probed, including atomic momentum distributions, vibrations, and relaxation phenomena. Recent work has been carried out to investigate the dynamics of disordered materials.

Particle Size Determination by Quasielastic Light Scattering
Analytical Chemistry, 1981Sedimentation, microscopy, intensity light scattering, exclusion chromatography, and electrical resistance change are among the techniques rontinely used for particle size analysis. Ongoing studies with quasielastic light scattering (QLS) are demonstrating that this relatively new technique offers significant advantages in many pa:ticle sizing analyses
