Existence and Nonexistence of Positive Solutions for a Weighted Quasilinear Elliptic System
This paper deals with the existence and nonexistence of solutions for the following weighted quasilinear elliptic system, Sμ1,μ2q1,q2−divq1x∇up−2∇u=μ1up−2u+α+1uα−1uvβ+1in Ω−divq2x∇vp−2∇v=μ2vp−2v+β+1uα+1vβ−1vin Ωu>0, v>0in Ωu=v=0on ∂Ω , where Ω⊂ℜNN≥3,2 ...

ABSTRACT This paper develops a mathematical framework for interpreting observations of solar inertial waves in an idealized setting. Under the assumption of purely toroidal linear waves on the sphere, the stream function of the flow satisfies a fourth‐order scalar equation.

The interest of this paper is that we use the critical point theory to prove the existence of a sequence of non-trivial solutions for a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear Sub-elliptic systems with critical growth and logarithmic perturbation.

On some properties of a system of nonlinear partial functional differential equations
We consider a system of a semilinear hyperbolic functional differential equation (where the lower order terms contain functional dependence on the unknown function) with initial and boundary conditions and a quasilinear elliptic functional differential ...

Random Carbon Tax Policy and Investment Into Emission Abatement Technologies
ABSTRACT We analyze the problem of a profit‐maximizing electricity producer, subject to carbon taxes, who decides on investments into CO2$\rm CO_2$ abatement technologies. We assume that the carbon tax policy is random and that the investment in the abatement technology is divisible, irreversible, and subject to transaction costs.

Analysis of Chorus Wave Power on Burst‐Mode Timescales During the Van Allen Probes Era
Abstract Interactions between whistler‐mode chorus waves and electrons are a key driver of dynamics in Earth's radiation belts. These global dynamics are often described using Fokker‐Planck diffusion models. Whilst, in many cases, such models effectively describe the large scale changes within the region, they often rely upon spatially and temporally ...

On positive solutions of quasilinear elliptic systems [PDF]
The existence and nonexistence of positive solutions of quasilinear elliptic systems \[ -\Delta_p u= f(x,u,v), \quad -\Delta _p v = g(x,u,v), \quad \text{in} \;\Omega ,\quad u = v = 0,\quad \text{on} \;\partial \Omega, \] is studied. Here \(\Delta _p\) is the \(p\)-Laplacian, \(p>1\), \(\Omega \) is a \(C^{1,\alpha }\) domain in \(\mathbb R^n\) and \(f,

The prior estimate and decay property of positive solutions are derived for a system of quasilinear elliptic differential equations first. Then, the nonexistence result for radially nonincreasing positive solutions of the system is implied. By using this

Weak solutions to a multi-phase field system of parabolic equations related to alloy solidification [PDF]
Existence of weak solutions to a phase field model for solidification of alloys is studied. The model consists of balance equations for the energy and the concentrations of the alloy components which are coupled to a system of Allen-Cahn equations ...
