The Cost of Convenience: A Hedonic Approach to Travel Time Valuation and Cost‐Benefit Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Regional Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a novel revealed‐preference approach to estimating the value of travel time (VTT) and calculating consumer surplus for the economic evaluation of transport infrastructure. Departing from traditional stated‐preference models, we derive time valuations by linking residential rental transactions in Greater Sydney to employment

Study of the system of quasilinear equations for isotachophoresis

open access: yes, 1990
In the present paper the system of n quasilinear equations for isotachophoresis is studied. For this system a geometrical construction of the characteristics and Hugoniot adiabatic curves is given.

Analyticity of solutions for quasilinear wave equations and other quasilinear systems [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of Edinburgh: Section A Mathematics, 2014
We prove the persistence of analyticity for classical solutions of the Cauchy problem for quasilinear wave equations with analytic data. Our results show that the analyticity of solutions, stated by the Cauchy–Kowalewski and Ovsiannikov–Nirenberg theorems, lasts until a classical solution exists.

Random Carbon Tax Policy and Investment Into Emission Abatement Technologies

open access: yesMathematical Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We analyze the problem of a profit‐maximizing electricity producer, subject to carbon taxes, who decides on investments into CO2$\rm CO_2$ abatement technologies. We assume that the carbon tax policy is random and that the investment in the abatement technology is divisible, irreversible, and subject to transaction costs.

On a quasilinear nonlocal Benney system

open access: yes, 2017
We study a quasilinear nonlocal Benney system and establish the existence and uniqueness of strong local in time solutions to the corresponding Cauchy problem.

Lagrangian vector field and Lagrangian formulation of partial differential equations

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2005
In this paper we consider the Lagrangian formulation of a system of second order quasilinear partial differential equations. Specifically we construct a Lagrangian vector field such that the flows of the vector field satisfy the original system of ...

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 11, 3 June 2026.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Lyapunov-type inequalities for n-dimensional quasilinear systems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, inspired by the paper of Yang et al [12], we establish new versions of Lyapunov-type inequalities for a certain class of Dirichlet quasilinear systems.

A quasilinear parabolic system arising in modelling of catalytic reactors

open access: yes, 1987
A system of four quasilinear parabolic equations arising in modelling of catalytic reactors is studied; the system is coupled in a nonstandard way. We prove that the system has unique global solution.

Weak solutions to a multi-phase field system of parabolic equations related to alloy solidification [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Existence of weak solutions to a phase field model for solidification of alloys is studied. The model consists of balance equations for the energy and the concentrations of the alloy components which are coupled to a system of Allen-Cahn equations ...
