Harmonic and reactive behavior of the quasiparticle tunnel current in SIS junctions

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
In this paper, we show theoretically and experimentally that the reactive quasiparticle tunnel current of the superconductor tunnel junction could be directly measured at specific bias voltages for the higher harmonics of the quasiparticle tunnel current.

Normal state electronic structure in the heavily overdoped regime of Bi1.74Pb0.38Sr1.88CuO6+delta single-layer cuprate superconductors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We explore the electronic structure in the heavily overdoped regime of the single layer cuprate superconductor Bi1.74Pb0.38Sr1.88CuO6+delta. We found that the nodal quasiparticle behavior is dominated mostly by phonons, while the antinodal quasiparticle ...

Directional Flow of Confined Polaritons in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CrSBr, a layered magnetic semiconductor, naturally channels self‐hybridized excitonpolaritons into highly directional flow. Its intrinsic optical anisotropy, high refractive index, and strong lightmatter coupling enable long‐range guided modes along the a‐axis, with propagation lengths set by their excitonphoton admixture.

From chiral vibration to tilted-axis wobbling within broken chiral symmetry

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2021
The effect of non-axial rigid alignment of the quasiparticle spins on the behaviour of the chiral partner bands is investigated within a semiclassical treatment of a particle-rotor Hamiltonian. A valence h11/2 proton particle and a h11/2 neutron hole are

Non-Hermitian Topological Theory of Finite-Lifetime Quasiparticles: Prediction of Bulk Fermi Arc Due to Exceptional Point [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce a topological theory to study quasiparticles in interacting and/or disordered many-body systems, which have a finite lifetime due to inelastic and/or elastic scattering.

Long-wavelength spin- and spin-isospin correlations in nucleon matter

open access: yes, 2005
We analyse the long-wavelength response of a normal Fermi liquid using Landau theory. We consider contributions from intermediate states containing one additional quasiparticle-quasihole pair as well as those from states containing two or more additional

The Role of Ground State Correlations in the Single-Particle Strength of Odd Nuclei with Pairing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
A method based on the consistent use of the Green function formalism has been developed to calculate the distribution of the single-particle strength in odd nuclei with pairing.

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

Brownian Electric Bubble Quasiparticles

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters
Recent works on electric bubbles (including the experimental demonstration of electric skyrmions) constitute a breakthrough akin to the discovery of magnetic skyrmions some 15 years ago. So far research has focused on obtaining and visualizing these objects, which often appear to be immobile (pinned) in experiments.
