Commissioning evaluation of a deviceless 4DCT scanner

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The utilization of four‐dimensional computed tomography (4DCT) for radiation therapy has not seen major advances to the method of data binning since shortly after inception. Recently there is increased interest in the utilization of an alternative binning method rather than more established techniques.

Asymmetric synthesis of quaternary aryl amino acid derivatives via a three-component aryne coupling reaction

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2011
A method was developed for the synthesis of α-alkyl, α-aryl-bislactim ethers in good to excellent yields and high diastereoselectivities, consisting of a facile one-pot procedure in which the aryl group is introduced by means of a nucleophilic addition ...

Human papillomavirus (HPV) prediction for oropharyngeal cancer based on CT by using off‐the‐shelf features: A dual‐dataset study

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study aims to develop a novel predictive model for determining human papillomavirus (HPV) presence in oropharyngeal cancer using computed tomography (CT). Current image‐based HPV prediction methods are hindered by high computational demands or suboptimal performance.

The lives of creatures obscure, misunderstood, and wonderful: a volume in honour of Ken Aplin 1958–2019. In Papers in Honour of Ken Aplin, ed. Julien Louys, Sue O’Connor, and Kristofer M. Helgen

open access: yesRecords of the Australian Museum, 2020
[Excerpt] He was always a modest man, but Ken was a genius and the toughest man we knew. He was also extraordinarily generous of spirit. The way he gave of himself, his time, and his hard-won stores of knowledge, was legendary amongst his friends and ...

Effects of simultaneous multislice acceleration on the stability of radiomics features in parametric maps of IVIM and DKI in uterine cervical cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of the simultaneous multislice acceleration (SMS) technique as well as two‐dimensional (2D) and three‐dimensional (3D) tumor segmentations on radiomics features (RFs) within the parametric maps of cervical cancer, which were computed by intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) and ...

Unsupervised non‐small cell lung cancer tumor segmentation using cycled generative adversarial network with similarity‐based discriminator

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Tumor segmentation is crucial for lung disease diagnosis and treatment. Most existing deep learning‐based automatic segmentation methods rely on manually annotated data for network training. Purpose This study aims to develop an unsupervised tumor segmentation network smic‐GAN by using a similarity‐driven generative adversarial ...

Multivalued circuits and Interconnect issues [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Many papers have presented multi-valued circuits in various technologies as a solution to reduce or solve interconnection issues in binary circuits. This assumption is discussed. While 4-valued signaling could divide by two the number of interconnects between building blocks, it turns out that circuit designers use interconnect standards based on ...

Topological Photonic States at a 1-D Binary-Quaternary Interface [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
The existence of topological interface states is investigated at the boundary between a binary photonic crystal and a quaternary photonic crystal, with each possessing inversion symmetric unit cells. Conditions are established that describe where the quaternary crystal can exist in parameter space subject to constraints.
