Quaternary

Geological Society, London, Memoirs, 1992
Abstract The Quaternary is represented widely over land areas and sea floors around Britain by sediments formed under conditions which ranged from warm temperate to glacial, humid to semi-arid, and which involved glacial, periglacial, fluvial, mass movement, marine and aeolian processes.

Quaternary

1993
Abstract The Quaternary spans approximately the last two million years (Fig. 4K.1). In Canada, it is associated with glaciation, and the Interior Plains display a glacial record that may be unrivalled for detail and completeness. This review gives a synopsis of the period; a fuller account is found in Chapter 2 (Klassen, 1989; Vincent ...

Quaternary ZnCdSeTe Nanowires

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2010
We report the growth of needle-like high density quaternary ZnCdSeTe nanowires on oxidized Si(100) substrate using vapor-liquid-solid mechanism by molecular beam epitaxy with an Au-based nanocatalyst. It was found that average length and average diameter of the nanowires were 1.3 microm and 91 nm, respectively.

Quaternary Deepwater Paleoceanography

Science, 1990
During the past decade, geochemical paleoceanographers have begun to explore the changes in the circulation of the deep ocean that occurred during the glacial-interglacial cycles of the earth's recent history. The deep ocean was significantly colder during the glacial maximum.

Quaternary

1994
Abstract In the Cenozoic, the continents of the northern hemisphere shifted towards the North Pole, and Antarctica occupied the south polar section. This situation, plus climatic changes, were favourable for the formation of the permanent polar ice sheets of Arctica and Antarctica in the Pliocene and Miocene, respectively.

Quaternary basic man

European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO), 2003
This article is one of a series of educational features on contemporary developments in cell and molecular sciences of relevance to cancer specialists. It describes significant aspects of the human genome and related technologies, as revealed in the publication of draft sequences by two consortia in 2001.

Chimeric Amphiphilic Disinfectants: Quaternary Ammonium/Quaternary Phosphonium Hybrid Structures

ChemMedChem
AbstractCationic biocides play a crucial role in the disinfection of domestic and healthcare surfaces. Due to the rise of bacterial resistance towards common cationic disinfectants like quaternary ammonium compounds (QACs), the development of novel actives is necessary for effective infection prevention and control.
