Hydrate Plug Prevention by Quaternary Ammonium Salts
Energy & Fuels, 2005The use of low-dosage inhibitors is an alternative to thermodynamic inhibitors to prevent gas hydrates from plugging oil production pipelines. In this work, quaternary ammonium salts (QAs) with different structures were tested as hydrate plug inhibitors on model systems containing 1/1/4/X proportions (by weight) of water/THF/oil/QA systems.

The synthesis of quaternary ammonium salts from ammonium salts and dialkyl carbonate
Chemical Communications, 2006Quaternary ammonium salts were synthesized from ammonium salts and dialkyl carbonates over an ionic liquid catalyst 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bromide.

Synthesis of quaternary ammonium salts
1997Since the early days of phase transfer catalysis (PTC), the most popular catalysts have been quaternary ammonium salts (quats). Among these, tetra- H-butylammonium bromide (TBAB), introduced by Brandstrom, triethyl- benzylammonium chloride (TEBA), initiated by Maskoza, and Stark’s tricaprylmethylammonium chloride (Aliquat 336 or Adogen 464) are more ...

Quaternary ammonium salts as colloidal electrolytes
Journal of Colloid Science, 1946Abstract 1. 1. Freezing point depressions in solutions of dodecylbenzyldimethylammonium chloride and sulfamate have been measured. The osmotic coefficients of the chloride fall midway between the generalized curves of McBain and Brady for straight and branched chain compounds. The sulfamate is less associated in dilute solutions than the chloride.

Chiral Quaternary Ammonium Salts in Organocatalysis
2017International audience ; The acceleration of a reaction by means of a substoichiometric amount of small chiral organic molecules emerged as a powerful asymmetric synthetic methodology during the early 2000s. As testified by the increasing number of publications, organocatalysis has become the third pillar of catalysis beside metallocatalysis and ...
