Harmonic morphisms from quaternionic projective spaces

Geometriae Dedicata, 1995
Harmonic morphisms are maps between Riemannian manifolds, say, from \(M\) to \(N\), which pull back germs of real-valued harmonic functions on \(N\) to germs of harmonic functions on \(M\). In this paper, the author constructs harmonic morphisms from certain open subsets of quaternionic projective spaces to a Riemann surface.

EINSTEIN–KÄHLER SUBMANIFOLDS IN A QUATERNION PROJECTIVE SPACE

Bulletin of the London Mathematical Society, 2004
The author classifies the Kähler submanifolds of a (real) \(4n\)-dimensional quaternion projective space which have (real) dimension \(2n\) and which are Einstein spaces or locally reducible spaces. In order to do so, he shows that such submanifolds have parallel second fundamental form and uses his classification of \(2n\)-dimensional Kähler ...

Split quaternions and semi-Euclidean projective spaces

Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, 2009
Abstract In this study, we give one-to-one correspondence between the elements of the unit split three-sphere S ( 3 , 2 ) with the complex hyperbolic special unitary matrices SU ( 2 , 1 ) . Thus, we express spherical concepts such as meridians of longitude and parallels of latitude on SU ( 2 , 1 ) by using the ...

Quaternionic line bundles over quaternionic projective spaces

2006
The authors consider the problem of enumerating the quaternionic line bundles over quaternionic projective spaces, that is, enumerating the set of based homotopy classes of self-maps of such projective spaces. They solve the problem completely in dimensions 2 and 3, and go a long way in the general case, where the answer depends only on the parity of ...

Nonexistence of Almost-Quaternion Substructures on the Complex Projective Space

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1985
AbstractIt is shown that there are no almost-quaternion substructures on the complex projective space Pn(ℂ).
