Auditory–Tactile Congruence for Synthesis of Adaptive Pain Expressions in RoboPatients

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this work, we explore auditory–tactile congruence for synthesizing adaptive vocal pain expressions in robopatients. Using a robopatient platform that integrates vocal pain sounds with palpation forces, we conducted 7680 trials across 20 participants.

Pengaruh umur lebah ratu, jumlah sisiran eram, dan penyekat ratu terhadap pertambahan bobot anggota koloni lebah Apis mellifera

open access: yesJurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Peternakan, 2012
The aim of this study was to discover the influence of queen age, the number of brood combs and queen excluder on colony weight during the flowering (blossome) season. A trial nested design was employed with 3 replications on 36 colonies.

Analysis of the Spatial Error Model with Queen Contiguity Matrix Weights on Dengue Fever

open access: yesJTAM (Jurnal Teori dan Aplikasi Matematika)
Dengue Fever is one of the deadly diseases caused by a rapidly spreading virus transmitted through the Aedes aegypti mosquito. This study focuses on the NTB region, which has different geographical characteristics and infrastructure challenges. The variables used in this study are: dengue fever incidence, population, hospitals, community health centers,

Effects of queen mating status, pre-diapause weight and pupae’s sex on colony initiation in small-scale rearing of Bombus terrestris [PDF]

open access: yesApidologie, 2017
Diapause control and colony initiation are among the major problems encountered in the rearing of bumble bee colonies in small-scale rearing. In this study, we used Bombus terrestris queens obtained from commercial colonies to investigate (1) the diapause survival in virgin and mated queens, (2) the diapause and colony initiation performance of mated ...

A Low‐Cost, Handheld Optical Stiffness Sensor for Minimally Invasive Surgery

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A novel handheld stiffness sensor is presented for real‐time tissue stiffness characterization. By simultaneously sensing contact force and tissue deformation, the device enables accurate stiffness quantification without requiring precise manual control. This approach offers a promising solution for intraoperative tumor detection and minimally invasive

Effect of honeybee queen size and HSP90 and HSC70 gene expression on thermal stress resistance

open access: yesFrontiers in Bee Science
IntroductionIn beekeeping, queen cell size is a critical factor influencing the growth and development of queen bees. It was hypothesized that larger queen cells would produce queens with greater weight, enhanced resilience to heat stress, and higher ...

Chronic exposure of imidacloprid and clothianidin reduce queen survival, foraging, and nectar storing in colonies of Bombus impatiens.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
In an 11-week greenhouse study, caged queenright colonies of Bombus impatiens Cresson, were fed treatments of 0 (0 ppb actual residue I, imidacloprid; C, clothianidin), 10 (14 I, 9 C), 20 (16 I, 17C), 50 (71 I, 39 C) and 100 (127 I, 76 C) ppb ...

NFYB Integrates Hormonal Signals into Tissue Allometry by Promoting Protein Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the American cockroach, NFYB acts as a spatiotemporin that translates distinct hormonal cues into tissue‐specific allometry. Juvenile hormone activates NFYB in the early fat body, while 20‐hydroxyecdysone induces it in late wing pads. NFYB then promotes protein biosynthesis via core translational machinery, driving differential growth across the ...
