Mobility strategies based on percolation theory to avoid the spread of diseases: COVID-19 [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de F\'isica 68 011701 1-12 2022, 2021
Human mobility is an important factor in the propagation of infectious diseases. In particular, the spatial spread of a disease is a consequence of human mobility. On the other hand, the control strategies based on mobility restrictions are generally unpopular and costly.

The Calar Alto lunar occultation program: update and new results [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.Astrophys. 445 (2006) 1081-1088, 2005
We present an update of the lunar occultation program which is routinely carried out in the near-IR at the Calar Alto Observatory. A total of 350 events were recorded since our last report (Fors et al. 2004). In the course of eight runs we have observed, among others, late-type giants, T-Tauri stars, and infrared sources.

Infrared and visual lunar occultations measurements of stellar diameters and new binary stars detections at the Calar Alto 1.5m telescope [PDF]

open access: yesAstron.Astrophys. 419 (2004) 285-290, 2004
We present a program of routine lunar occultations, at optical and near-IR wavelengths, recently started at the 1.5m Spanish telescope at the Calar Alto Observatory. Both a CCD and an infrared array detector are used. The program is aimed mainly at the detection and investigation of binary systems, although results in other areas of stellar research ...

Kinematic properties as probes of the evolution of dwarf galaxies in the Virgo cluster [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophys.J.707:L17-L21,2009, 2009
We present new observational results on the kinematical, morphological, and stellar population properties of a sample of 21 dEs located both in the Virgo cluster and in the field, which show that 52% of the dEs i) are rotationally supported, ii) exhibit structural signs of typical rotating systems such as discs, bars or spiral arms, iii) are younger ...

CALIFA, the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area survey. III. Second public data release [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 576, A135 (2015), 2014
This paper describes the Second Public Data Release (DR2) of the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area (CALIFA) survey. The data for 200 objects are made public, including the 100 galaxies of the First Public Data Release (DR1). Data were obtained with the integral-field spectrograph PMAS/PPak mounted on the 3.5 m telescope at the Calar Alto ...

Follow-up observations from observatories based in Spain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We present a review of the follow-up observations carried out from observatories located in Spain; Calar-Alto, Izanha and Roque de Los Muchachos. It summarizes the observations carried out by our group for 27 GRBs occurred in the period 1999-2000, spanning from GRB 990123 to GRB 001007.

A near-infrared survey for new low-mass members in Alpha Per [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We present a near-infrared (K'-band) survey of 0.7 square degree area in the Alpha Persei open cluster (age = 90 Myr, distance = 182 pc) carried out with the Omega-Prime camera on the Calar Alto 3.5-m telescope. Combining optical data (Rc and Ic) obtained with the KPNO/MOSA detector and presented in Stauffer et al.

CALIFA, the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area survey: IV. Third Public data release [PDF]

open access: yesA&A 594, A36 (2016), 2016
This paper describes the Third Public Data Release (DR3) of the Calar Alto Legacy Integral Field Area (CALIFA) survey. Science-grade quality data for 667 galaxies are made public, including the 200 galaxies of the Second Public Data Release (DR2). Data were obtained with the integral-field spectrograph PMAS/PPak mounted on the 3.5m telescope at the ...
