Heterogeneous and Homogeneous Quenching of (3CT)Ru(Bipy)32+ as Observed in a Photogalvanic Cell

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1977
(3CT)Ru(Bipy)32+ generated by light irradiation, is quenched heterogeneously by a gold electrode, yielding Ru(bipy)3+ which can be reoxidized at the counter-electrode to Ru(Bipy)32+.

Influence of Scan Strategies in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion on Solidification, Microstructure, and High‐Temperature Compressive Properties of γ′‐Strengthened Inconel 738LC

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Imaging mRNA Expression in Live Cells via PNA·DNA Strand Displacement-Activated Probes

open access: yesJournal of Nucleic Acids, 2012
Probes for monitoring mRNA expression in vivo are of great interest for the study of biological and biomedical problems, but progress has been hampered by poor signal to noise and effective means for delivering the probes into live cells.

Quencher Group Induced High Specificity Detection of Telomerase in Clear and Bloody Urines by AIEgens

open access: yes, 2015
Telomerase is a widely used tumor biomarker for early cancer diagnosis. On the basis of the combined use of aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorogens and quencher, a quencher group induced high specificity strategy for detection of telomerase ...

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Synthesis and evaluation of a new non-fluorescent quencher in fluorogenic oligonucleotide probes for real-time PCR

open access: yes, 2005
A non-fluorescent quencher, based on the diaminoanthraquinone Disperse Blue 3, has been incorporated into oligonucleotides at the 5?-end, the 3?-end and internally as a thymidine derivative.

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.
