Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Spectroscopic and thermodynamic characterization of the interaction of a new synthesized antitumor drug candidate 2H4MBBH with human serum albumin [PDF]

open access: yesPharmacia
In the present work we studied the interactions of a newly synthesized drug candidate, 2-(2-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzylidene)-1-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)hydrazine (2H4MBBH), with human serum albumin (HSA) by fluorescence spectroscopy.

Lifetime quenching in Yb doped fibres

open access: yes, 1997
We have discovered that in ytterbium-doped silica fibres the excited state lifetime of a fraction of the Yb ions can be quenched to a very small value, leading to a strong unbleachable loss.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Aggregation-Induced Emission (AIE)-Labeled Cellulose Nanocrystals for the Detection of Nitrophenolic Explosives in Aqueous Solutions

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) active cellulose nanocrystals (TPE-CNCs) were synthesized by attaching tetraphenylethylene (TPE) to cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs).

Thioamide quenching of intrinsic protein fluorescence

open access: yesChemical Communications, 2012
Thioamides quench tryptophan and tyrosine fluorescence in a distance-dependent manner and thus can be used to monitor the binding of thioamide-containing peptides to proteins.

Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...
