Selective seasonal foraging behavior of herbivores on a Danish island demonstrated by DNA metabarcoding

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Understanding how herbivores influence plant communities is critical for managing biodiversity and ecosystem functions, particularly in conservation areas undergoing restoration or rewilding, where free‐ranging large herbivores impact the vegetation development.

Soil remineralization with silicate rock powder: nutrient effects on plant quality and ungulate foraging

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Silicate rock powder (SRP), a slow‐release mineral additive, is increasingly used as a potential mitigation measure against soil acidification in natural areas. SRP addition has led to a higher soil base saturation and small increases in soil nutrient availability.

Pharmacology of Quercus infectoria

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1976
The galls of Quercus infectoria (Fagaceae), a commonly available plant in Iran, were studied pharmacologically. Two fractions were employed, a dried acetone-treated methanol extract dissolved in water (Fraction A) and a subfraction prepared by chloroform-methanol extraction (Fraction B).

Cultivar Checklist of Quercus (Excluding Subg. Quercus)

Arboriculture & Urban Forestry, 1987
Cultivars of species in the genus Quercus (excl. subgenus Quercus, the white oaks) are listed and described. Twent-two species and several hybrids of the subgenera Cyclobalanopsis, Corns, Protobalanus, and Erythrobaianus are discussed and determinations made on the validity of cultivar names. The "Darlington" oak is regarded as a colloquial name for Q.

Localization of the ellagitannins in the tissues of Quercus robur and Quercus petraea woods

Phytochemistry, 1994
Abstract The heartwoods of a pedunculate oak and a sessile oak were each dissected into four fractions according to tissue type. The ellagitannins roburins A–E, grandinin, castalagin, and vescalagin in each fraction were determined by HPLC. The ellagitannin distributions in the wood of the two species were found to be identical. Both the longitudinal
