Mass decline of oak trees is a widespread phenomenon in many European countries, as well as in Serbia, and this phenomenon is driven by different causes. The most intensive oak decline in Serbia was registered in Eastern Serbia, and sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) was the most affected host.

The role of phytic acid in storage of acorns of sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.)

The aim of the research is to develop new cheap and practical methods for long-term storage of acorns of sessile oak, because today it is possible to store them only for few months (recalcitrant seeds). The research is based on the hypothesis, that the vitality of acorns after long-term storage is in positive correlation with the content of phytic acid

The effects of weathering on the aesthetic perception of oak wood (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) were assessed through interviews realised on the same specimens before and after 500 hours of artificial UV weathering. About fifty people participated to each inquiry, regarding 17 pairs of pieces.
