Queue Spillback and Demand Uncertainty in Dynamic Network Loading
Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, 2019In the field, queue spillback contributes substantially to urban congestion. Therefore, most dynamic network loading models either explicitly include spillback, or frame a failure to model spillback as an unfortunate consequence of mathematical or computational tractability that should be relaxed in future work.

Queue Spillback in Braess's Paradox Considering Dynamic Traffic Assignment
Advanced Materials Research, 2013This paper presents a dynamic version of Braesss paradox in transportation networks. This time-varying paradox considers queue spillback in dynamic traffic assignment. Five independent considerations in relation to the traffic-flow component are discussed.
