Digital Twins for Offshore Wind Operation and Maintenance: A Review

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 29, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Offshore wind has become a key focus for achieving carbon neutrality. However, offshore wind turbines face considerable operational and maintenance challenges due to harsh conditions and difficult access. Integrating digital twin technology helps support operation and maintenance activities.

One of the Many Things That I've Learned on This Journey…: A Co‐operative, Narrative Inquiry With Two Care Partners of Spouses With Young Onset Dementia

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Young‐onset dementia (YOD) is a term used when people demonstrate symptoms or are diagnosed with dementia before 65 years of age. YOD can be challenging to diagnose because health practitioners often do not initially consider dementia as the cause of someone's change in health or function in their 40 s, 50 s or even early 60 s ...

Mind the Gap: A Qualitative Study of Patients’ Experiences of Acute Elective Care Across the NHS and the Private Sector in England

open access: yesHealth Expectations, Volume 29, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Whilst the use of the private sector to deliver acute elective care in the United Kingdom is increasing, there is limited understanding of the patient experience when moving between NHS and private organisations to receive treatment.

Microfoundations of Adaptive Decision‐Making Capability: How Chief Supply Chain Officers Convert Technology‐Enabled Visibility Into Coordinated Action

open access: yesJournal of Business Logistics, Volume 47, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Supply chain leaders increasingly operate with extensive technology‐enabled visibility, yet many firms still struggle to convert shared signals into timely, coordinated action. We frame this tension as the visibility‐to‐action problem in supply chain management (SCM): executives observe more than they can process and often fail to route ...

Violence, Stigma, and Moral Injury in Nursing During the COVID‐19 Pandemic: A Qualitative Analysis From 18 Countries in Latin America and the Caribbean

open access: yesNursing Inquiry, Volume 33, Issue 4, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Workplace violence against nurses and midwives intensified during the COVID‐19 pandemic, exposing and amplifying longstanding structural marginalization in health systems across Latin America. This study analyzes how different forms of violence were experienced and described by nursing professionals during this period.

Human‐in‐the‐loop eider duck counting in Arctic Canada with an open‐vocabulary multispecies wildlife detector

open access: yesAI Magazine, Volume 47, Issue 3, Fall 2026.
Abstract Accurate monitoring of eider duck populations in Arctic Canada is essential for understanding ecosystem health and supporting conservation efforts in a rapidly changing climate. Traditional manual counting from aerial imagery is time‐consuming, labor‐intensive, and prone to observer bias.

Routine physics work efficacy and efficiency improvement through a shared‐duty physicist‐of‐the‐day model in a multi‐hospital radiation oncology network

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Background Large multi‐hospital radiation oncology networks often rely on site‐exclusive physicist coverage models that can lead to imbalanced workload distribution, inconsistent task execution, communication fragmentation, and vulnerability to delayed or missed quality checks.

How is Nanoarchitectonics Shaping Extracellular Vesicle Research?

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 36, 25 September 2026.
The convergence of nanoarchitectonics and extracellular vesicle biology is reshaping next‐generation nanomedicine by enabling rationally designed nanostructures for enhanced EVs detection, engineering, and therapy. ABSTRACT Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have gained recognition as crucial mediators of cell‐to‐cell communication, holding immense potential

Exact Discrete Stochastic Simulation With Deep‐Learning‐Scale Gradient Optimization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 52, 18 September 2026.
A 203,796‐parameter gene regulatory network classifies handwritten digits with 98.4% accuracy using exact stochastic dynamics. The framework decouples forward simulation from backward differentiation, making continuous‐time Markov chain models compatible with deep‐learning optimization.
