The Sierra de Quibas is mainly a Lower Jurassic carbonated relief. Its main structure is a klippe of Middle Subbeticon Southern Prebetic. The internal structure is a NE-SW anticlinorium. Detailed geological mapping (E. 1:25,000) has pointed to anomalous folds (almost N-S) caused by the halokinétic action ofTriassic materials.
