Dimensionless Investigations on Energy Conversion and Analysis of Interlayer Time in Laser‐Based Powder Bed Fusion of Polymers for Polyamide 12 with Nanoadditives and Polypropylene

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the energy conversion in powder bed fusion of polymers using laser beam for polyamide 12 and polypropylene powders. It combines material and process data, using dimensionless parameters and numerical models, to enable the prediction of suitable printing parameters.

Relationship between Lesion Parameters after Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation in Striated Muscles and Parenchymal Tissue

open access: yesMedicina
Background and Objectives: Radiofrequency catheter ablation (RFCA) is a highly successful intervention. By comparing the lesion changes in prostate parenchymal and striated muscle tissues after RFCA with and without cooling, it was possible to assess the

Quotient supermanifolds [PDF]

open access: yesBulletin of the Australian Mathematical Society, 1998
A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a supermanifold structure on a quotient defined by an equivalence relation is established. Furthermore, we show that an equivalence relation R on a Berezin-Leĭtes-Kostant supermanifold X determines a quotient supermanifold X/R if and only if the restriction R0 of R to the underlying smooth ...

Quality Enhancement of Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion Parts by Acoustically Assisted Additive Manufacturing by Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion and its Application to Lattice Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing technologies like laser powder‐bed fusion offer great design freedom and individualization of products down to a batch size of one. However, parts fabricated with this technology suffer from poor quality. Acoustic assistance during the build process can minimize these drawbacks.

Mesoporous Silica Microspheres by Super‐Fast Alkaline Etching of Micrometer‐Sized Stöber Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale silica particles are prepared along with a modified, scalable Stöber synthesis using the continuous addition of tetraethoxy silane to an ethanolic solution of ammonia with KCl. Etching with hydroxide ions at 95 °C gave porous analogs within minutes. Monodisperse particles are isolable in high yield after precipitation in ethanol.

On extreme values of Nehari manifold method via nonlinear Rayleigh's quotient [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study applicability conditions of the Nehari manifold method for the equation of the form $ D_u T(u)-\lambda D_u F(u)=0 $ in a Banach space $W$, where $\lambda$ is a real parameter.

Optimized Strategy for Fabricating High‐Aspect‐Ratio Periodic Structures Over Large Areas Using ps‐Direct Laser Interference Patterning

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Picosecond direct laser interference patterning (DLIP) enables precise microstructure fabrication on stainless steel. Using a multiscan approach, high‐aspect‐ratio patterns are achieved. Fluence influences structure growth and homogeneity, with smaller periods yielding better uniformity.
