The wall paintings of Gazi Husrev-bey’s Mosque in Sarajevo were produced in 1885, during the Austro-Hungarian rule. At that time, a famous Bosnian calligrapher hajji hafiz Husejin Rakim-efendi Islamović contributed to the ornamentation of the walls.
