PharmVar GeneFocus: NAT2—Genetic Variation and Updated Nomenclature

The Pharmacogene Variation Consortium (PharmVar) provides nomenclature for the highly polymorphic human N‐acetyltransferase 2 (NAT2) gene. NAT2 metabolizes several clinically used drugs including isoniazid, hydralazine, amifampridine, procainamide, and sulfonamides such as dapsone, and also some highly carcinogenic arylamines.

Potential to Improve Nitrogen Fertilizer Use Efficiency and Mitigate Pollution in Tropical Pastures Grazed by Sheep

We evaluated the effect of N fertilizer application rates (50, 100, 200, and 400 kg N/ha) on forage pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum (L.) R.) and animal responses: N balance and NUE per animal and per area basis.

Bio‐Inspired Swarm Robotics Design for Mine Automation

Ants demonstrate tandem running for cooperative haulage, and honeybees use memory‐based routes between hive and flowers. These behaviours inspire autonomous haulage robots in open‐pit mines to achieve efficient scan‐plan‐retrieve ore transport, replacing small haulage robots with large mining trucks.
