Coyote Range Expansion in the Human‐Modified Tropics of Mesoamerica

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Coyotes have expanded their range into southeastern Mexico, Guatemala, and Belize, increasingly occupying human‐modified landscapes. This expansion is ongoing, with rising detection rates over time and records in both disturbed and forested environments, highlighting a paradox where anthropogenic change enables native carnivore expansion.

An Exploratory Study on the Pathogenic Role of Faecal Extracellular Vesicles in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease Progression and in Drug‐Induced Liver Injury

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
Fecal extracellular vesicles (fEVs) from DILI patients have a distinct bacterial profile. This study provides evidence that bacterial EVs enter the bloodstream. DILI and MASLD F≥3 fEVs increase the pro‐inflammatory response and hepatocyte steatosis. FEVs from DILI patients enhance the hepatotoxic potential of diclofenac.

Real estate agent response to Hispanic/Latino clients: Homophily, local demographic, and regional differences

open access: yesReal Estate Economics, Volume 54, Issue 2, Page 253-287, March 2026.
Abstract We conduct a large‐scale correspondence experiment across 11 US states to assess differential treatment of Hispanic/Latino clients by real estate agents. The experiment covers an area with a wide range of underlying Hispanic/Latino population and a subject pool of agents that is ethnically diverse.

Palaeoglacier reconstruction and dynamics of Cordillera Vilcanota in the tropical high Peruvian Andes

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 51, Issue 2, February 2026.
We provide a geomorphological analysis of Cordillera Vilcanota and use morphostratigraphic principles to reconstruct palaeo icefield extent and palaeoglacier readvances, likely during the Antarctic Cold Reversal and Younger Dryas. We find evidence of temperate and polythermal ice margins, with limited glaciofluvial landform generation.

An Innovative Polypropylene/Waste Cork Composite Material for Spirit and Wine Stopper Caps

open access: yesApplied Sciences
In the wine bottling process, thermoplastics are commonly used to manufacture the crown of cork stoppers. The production of agglomerated cork stoppers generates a type of waste called cork powder (CoP) in large volumes with known properties but which are
