Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry (GNSS-R) algorithms for wetland observations

2017 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2017
It is important to closely monitor the state of the world's wetlands, as climate change and human encroachment in a rapid global urbanization trend threaten to cause large-scale wetland collapse. Because wetlands are often difficult to observe in situ, remote sensing is the only viable way to map wetland extent globally. However, current remote sensing

TheQ R algorithm for band symmetric matrices

Numerische Mathematik, 1970
The Q R algorithm with shifts of origin may be used to determine the eigenvalues of a band symmetric matrix A. The algorithm is described by the relations $$\matrix{ {{A_s} - {k_s}I = {Q_s}{R_s},} & {{R_s}{Q_s} = {A_{s + 1}}} & {(s = 1,2, \ldots )} \cr } $$ (1) where the Q s are orthogonal and the R s are upper triangular.

VLSI Design of a Fast One-Stage Independent Component Extracting System Based on ICA-R Algorithm

Journal of Circuits, Systems and Computers, 2020
Independent component analysis (ICA) is an efficient blind source separation technique, but the extracted independent components are randomly permuted in classic ICA algorithms, and subsequent identification is required to find the desired component. Such a two-stage method causes inefficiency.

Coevolution of lags and RBFNs for time series forecasting: L-Co-R algorithm

Soft Computing, 2011
This paper introduces Lags COevolving with Rbfns (L-Co-R), a coevolutionary method developed to face time-series forecasting problems. L-Co-R simultaneously evolves the model that provides the forecasted values and the set of time lags the model must use in the prediction process.

Shor’s r-Algorithms: Theory and Practice

2017
Properties of three computational forms of r-algorithms differentiated by their complexities (number of calculations per iteration) are considered. The results on convergence of the limit variants of r-algorithms for smooth functions and r μ (α)-algorithm for nondifferentiable functions are presented.

An Alternative ACO $_{\Bbb{R}}$ Algorithm for Continuous Optimization Problems

2010
The Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) metaheuristic embodies a large set of algorithms which have been successfully applied to a wide range of optimization problems. Although ACO practitioners have a long tradition in solving combinatorial optimization problems, many other researchers have recently developed a variety of ACO algorithms for dealing with ...
