A Thermostable Bacterial Metallohydrolase that Degrades Organophosphate Plasticizers
This bacterial enzyme, cyclase‐phosphotriesterase (C‐PTE) from Ruegeria pomeroyi DSS‐3, shows significant potential for breaking down organophosphate pollutants. Beyond its capability to hydrolyze specific plasticizers such as triphenyl phosphate and tris(2‐chloropropyl) phosphate, C‐PTE's crystal structure reveals a binuclear zinc active site, and it ...

ABSTRACT The present study is to develop a cost‐effective, non‐destructive and rapid method for quantification of syringyl/guaiacyl (S/G) ratio content in non‐wood lignin, which is based on FT‐NIR spectroscopic data and chemometric modelling techniques. The S/G ratio in 22 non‐wood lignins was determined by wet chemical method.

By integrating National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2005–2018) data analysis with Mendelian randomization analysis, we demonstrated that the increased ω‐3 FA intake and increased ratio of ω‐6 to total fatty acid level may be associated with a lower risk of sleep disorders, highlighting the potential benefits of dietary modification

A human skin microbiome reference catalog and the skin microbial landscape of plateau adults
Understanding the skin microbiome is crucial for elucidating its role in health and disease. However, comprehensive studies on the genetic and functional diversity of the skin microbiome in individuals living in extreme environments remain scarce. This work explores the unique characteristics and functional adaptations of the plateau skin microbiome ...

Abstract Purpose Platelet‐rich plasma (PRP) could be a vector for certain diseases, and its composition may vary by pathologic condition. The main comorbidities that could affect PRP composition are infectious, oncologic and haematologic. In addition to potential alteration of clinical response, these pathologies could have a significant impact on the ...

Abstract Prior disaster experiences often provide lessons for communities to respond to new disasters. In informal communities prone to disasters but conditioned within reactive disaster management regimes, residents and Community‐Based Organizations (CBOs) play immense roles in disaster risk reduction and response.

Abstract Prior research has shown that tropical cyclone (TC) size, which is integral in determining the spatial extent of TC impacts, is influenced by environmental wind shear and the overall moisture environment. This study considers North Atlantic TCs located within low to moderate wind shear and at least 100 km from major landmasses.
