ARDL modeling using R software

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract The goal of this paper is helping to apply ARDL models using the R software. We will cover its benefits, show how to use the packages and will make interesting recommendations for estimating models ARDL using R.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Study on the Convergence Behavior of Expectation Maximization Algorithm for Laplace Mixture Model [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Română de Statistică, 2019
Laplace mixture model is widely used in lifetime applications. The estimation of model parameters is required to analyze the data. In this paper, the expectation maximization algorithm is used to obtain the estimates of parameters.

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

A Search-Based Domain Adaptation Network for Fault Diagnosis of Rotating Machinery Under Cross-Operating Conditions

open access: yesIEEE Access
Most domain adaptation diagnostic methods focus only on minimizing the distribution discrepancy between domains but fail to learn discriminative features among different classes of data.

Coexistence of Ferroelectricity and Ferromagnetism in Fullerene‐Based One‐Dimensional Chains

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
One‐dimensional (1D) magnetoelectric multiferroics are promising multifunctional materials for miniaturized sensors, actuators, and memories. However, 1D materials with both ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism are quite rare.

Challenges of open innovation: the paradox of firm investment in open-source software [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Open innovation is a powerful framework encompassing the generation, capture, and employment of intellectual property at the firm level. We identify three fundamental challenges for firms in applying the concept of open innovation: finding creative ways ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
