Social mechanics of gifting bear bile in Việt Nam
Abstract The illegal wildlife trade is a major cause of global diversity loss. In Southeast Asia and particularly in Việt Nam, the consumption of wildlife products is mostly driven by demand for food and traditional medicine products. One key example of this in Việt Nam is the use of bear bile. While bear bile is one of the most well‐researched illegal

The 15‐Year Survival Advantage: Immune Resilience as a Salutogenic Force in Healthy Aging
Human aging shows puzzling diversity: similar aging rates yet vastly different health outcomes. Our study of ~17,500 people revealed a health‐promoting trait (more common in women) linked to strong immune resilience and high expression of TCF7, a key immune gene. This trait enables individuals to fight infections like COVID‐19 more effectively, respond

Spectral properties of the two-dimensional Schrödinger Hamiltonian with various solvable confinements in the presence of a central point perturbation [PDF]
We study three solvable two-dimensional systems perturbed by a point interaction centered at the origin. The unperturbed systems are the isotropic harmonic oscillator, a square pyramidal potential and a combination thereof. We study the spectrum of the

Small but crucial difference: Type‐III copper enzymes, like tyrosinase (TYR) and o‐aminophenol oxidase (AO), catalyze the oxidation of o‐aminophenols (AP) to quinone imines. Unlike TYR, AO can further oxidize AP to nitrosophenols. This nitroso‐forming activity is controlled by a key amino acid near the Cu(A) ion.

ABSTRACTTo determine the change of properties of Cat Hoa Loc mango grafted on different kinds of root-stock, a pot experiment was carried out at the Experimental Station ofCanthoUniversity. Seedlings of 8 popular mango varieties in theMekongDelta were used as root-stock: Buoi, Cat Hoa Loc, CatChu, Chau Hang Vo,Hon,NamDok Mai, Thanh Ca and Thom.
