Sequence and genomic organization of a rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus isolated from a wild rabbit
Virus Genes, 1995Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is a member of the caliciviridae family. The nucleotidic sequence of a full-length cDNA of one RHDV isolate (RHDV-SD) is reported. The genome is 7437 bases long and includes two ORFs, ORF1 (7034 b) and ORF2 (353 b), coding for the polyprotein and the Vp12, respectively.

Serologic comparison of four isolates of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus
Veterinary Microbiology, 1995An acute, fatal disease of rabbits, termed Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease (RHD), has occurred in Asia, Europe, and North America since 1984. The clinical signs, pathologic lesions, and epidemiologic features seen in the various outbreaks were very similar.

Rabbit hemorrhagic disease: A review with special reference to its epizootiology
European Journal of Epidemiology, 1993Rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD) is a relatively new and economically important viral disease of wild and domestic rabbits and hares. Characteristic lesions are abundant hemorrhages in many organs, e.g. trachea, lung, liver, kidney, spleen, peritoneum and pleura. In the past few years epidemic outbreaks of this disease have been observed worldwide. The

Hematological Parameters and Visceral Lesions Relationships in Rabbit Viral Hemorrhagic Disease
Journal of Veterinary Medicine, Series B, 1992SummaryTwenty rabbits were inoculated with a suspension of Viral Hemorrhagic Disease virus. Hemostatic functions were assessed every sixth hour from 6 to 60 hours post‐inoculation. Tissue samples obtained at the same intervals allowed the study of the development of lesions throughout the experiment.

Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) causes more than 90% mortality in adult rabbits. In this study, the cDNA of the VP60 coding sequence of RHDV was cloned under the control of the polyhedrin and p10 promoters of baculovirus to be expressed in insect cells. The expression of RHDV VP60 under the control of the p10 promoter was 5-10 times higher than

RABBIT HEMORRHAGIC DISEASE VIRUSES DETECTED IN PET RABBITS IN A COMMERCIAL LABORATORY IN EUROPE
Journal of Exotic Pet Medicine, 2018Abstract Rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD) is an important cause of disease and mortality in wild and domestic European rabbits (Oryctolagus cuniculus) throughout the world. Testing for 2 distinct RHD virus types (RHDV/RHDVa and RHDV2) was carried out on samples collected from 684 rabbits submitted from veterinary practices and private owners ...

Vaccines against viral pathogens are often composed of recombinant proteins expressed in different systems. Such proteins expressed by recombinant baculoviruses have been proven to be effective for vaccination. Especially, after codon usage optimization high amounts of recombinant viral proteins can be obtained which can assemble to virus like ...

Modeling the Effect of Population Dynamics on the Impact of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease
Conservation Biology, 2006Abstract: The European wild rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) is a staple prey species in Mediterranean ecosystems. The arrival and subsequent spread of rabbit hemorrhagic disease throughout southwestern Europe, however, has caused a decline in rabbit numbers, leading to considerable efforts to enhance wild rabbit populations, especially through habitat ...
