PATHOGENICITY AND IMMUNOGENICITY FOR SOME RABBIT HEMORRHAGIC DISEASE VIRUS(RHDV) STRAINS PROPAGATED IN ISOLATED HEPATOCYTES OF RABBIT

open access: closedTaiwan Veterinary Journal, 2021
The hepatocytes were isolated from the liver of different week-age of healthy rabbits by a single two-stage pass perfusion method and suspended in Hanks’ balanced salt solution (Ca[Formula: see text]-, Mg[Formula: see text]-free).

Recombination between G2 and G6 strains of rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) in China

open access: closedArchives of Virology, 2016
Rabbit hemorrhagic disease (RHD) is an acute fatal disease caused by the lagovirus rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV), which was first reported in 1984 in China. Genetic characterization of RHDV has demonstrated that two different genogroups (G2 and G6) are present in China.

A recombinant canarypox virus protects rabbits against a lethal rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) challenge

open access: closedVaccine, 1997
An ALVAC (canarypox)-based recombinant virus ALVAC-RHDV (vCP309) expressing a native rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) capsid protein was derived and assessed for its protective efficacy in rabbits. Protection against a lethal RHDV challenge was demonstrated in rabbits inoculated twice with either high (10(7) p.f.u.) or low (10(5) p.f.u.) doses ...

Rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV): ultrastructure and biochemical studies of typical and core-like particles present in liver homogenates

open access: closedVirus Research, 1996
Calicivirus particles isolated from rabbits suffering from acute RHD were compared with virions found in rabbits with chronic disease. Liver homogenates of rabbits with the protracted disease display no hemagglutinating activity and contain viral particles with diameters of 25-27 nm.

A new recombinant Orf virus (ORFV, Parapoxvirus) protects rabbits against lethal infection with rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV)

open access: closedVaccine, 2011
This report describes the generation of a new recombinant Orf virus (ORFV; Parapoxvirus) expressing the major capsid protein VP1 (VP60) of the calicivirus, rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV). Authentic expression of VP1 could be demonstrated in cells infected with the recombinant D1701-V-VP1 without the need for production of infectious ORFV ...

Adaptive diversification between the classic rabbit hemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) and the RHDVa isolates: A genome-wide perspective

open access: closedMicrobial Pathogenesis, 2017
Rabbit haemorrhagic disease virus (RHDV) is a highly infectious pathogen that causes high mortality in wild and domestic rabbits. RHDV could be divided into two subtypes, classic RHDV and RHDVa, which present clear genetic, antigenic, and epidemiological differences.
