Hepatic biotransformation in farmed blue fox and raccoon dog
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part C: Comparative Pharmacology, 1983In farmed raccoon dogs and blue foxes, the hepatic content of cytochrome P-450 and the activity of polysubstrate mono-oxygenase with benzo(a)pyrene and 7-ethoxycoumarin as substrates, as well as activity of UDP glucuronosyltransferase were of the same order of magnitude as those in the laboratory rat.

Phylogenetic identification of Cystoisospora spp. from dogs, cats, and raccoon dogs in Japan
Veterinary Parasitology, 2011Cystoisospora spp. from feces in dogs, cats, and raccoon dogs were isolated, sequenced at the small subunit ribosomal RNA gene locus and compared to other Cystoisospora spp. Cystoisospora oocysts from dogs and raccoon dogs were morphologically similar with those of C. ohioensis, and cat isolates were similar with those of C. felis.

Voluntary regulation of energy balance in farmed raccoon dogs
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Physiology, 19881. Seasonal changes in body mass and voluntary feed intake were studied in juvenile raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides, Gray 1834) under farm conditions. 2. The body weight maximum was achieved in mid-November. Thereafter, body weight gradually declined towards summer.

Rabies risk in raccoon dogs and foxes.
Developments in biologicals, 2008Raccoon dogs are seen as a new host for fox rabies in Europe. Disease spread in a community of species can change the epidemiology of the disease and calls for new disease control strategies. This study assesses the risk of a rabies outbreak, introduced to a community of foxes and raccoon dogs in Southern Finland, as an example of the reintroduction of

IMMUNOHISTOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PANCREATIC ENDOCRINECYTES IN THE RACCOON DOG
Transactions of the educational establishment “Vitebsk the Order of “the Badge of Honor” State Academy of Veterinary MedicineThe raccoon dog is a typical representative of the predators of the Polesie State Radiation and Ecological Reserve. Like other predators, it can serve as a bioindicator of the state of the natural environment, so the study of its pancreas at the histological level using the immunohistochemical method is of great interest for scientific research.
