Estimation of Bistatic Radar Detection Performance Under Discrete Clutter Conditions Using Stochastic Geometry [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
We propose a metric called the bistatic radar detection coverage probability to evaluate the detection performance of a bistatic radar under discrete clutter conditions. Such conditions are commonly encountered in indoor and outdoor environments where passive radars receivers are deployed with opportunistic illuminators.

Active Thermal Field Integration for Marangoni‐Driven Salt Rejection and Water Collection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A thermal gradient fabric (TGF) evaporator with an auxiliary active thermal field can simultaneously increase evaporation rates and achieve long‐term salt rejection. The auxiliary active thermal field is well integrated with solar energy to construct moderate, extensive, and circulating Marangoni flow for salt rejection.

Sensitivity of Single-Pulse Radar Detection to Radar State Uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Mission planners for aircraft operating under threat of detection from ground-based radar systems are often concerned with the probability of detection. Current approaches to path planning in such environments consider the radar state (i.e. radar position and parameters) to be deterministic and known.

Constant Amplitude Doppler Producing Radar Reflector [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
A constant amplitude Doppler producing radar reflector for simulating a moving target. A plurality of dihedral reflectors having equal radar cross sections are rotated axially at equal rotational speeds.

High‐Speed and Scalable Wet Spinning of Graphene/Liquid Crystalline Elastomer Composite Filaments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polydomain filaments from graphene/liquid crystalline elastomer (LCE) composites are scalably‐manufactured by wet spinning across a wide range of diameters (≈137–1128 µm) at a speed up to 4500 m h−1 through a double diffusion coagulation mechanism, enabling fast actuation and optimized mechanical performance for broad applications.
