A Wood Plasticine With Controlled Phase‐Change Behavior and Malleability for Energy‐Closed‐Loop and Conformally Adaptive Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A photothermal wood plasticine exhibiting controlled phase‐change behavior and malleable property is developed. The developed wood plasticine can provide all‐day, on‐demand, and low‐loss solar heating for geometrically diverse objects, including thermoelectric generator, human body, and battery, through its controlled crystallization‐melting ...

Multi-Azimuth Ground Penetrating Radar Surveys to Improve the Imaging of Complex Fractures

open access: yesGeosciences, 2018
Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) images are affected, to some degree, by the relative orientation of antennas and subsurface targets. This is particularly true not only for targets that show a significant directivity, but also for inclined planes, such as ...

Robust and Thermally Stable Silicone Aerogels with Hyperconnected Network via Kinetically Optimized Hyperbranched Silane Precursors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Reactivity‐Programmed Assembly: A kinetic‐control strategy is reported for constructing hyperconnected silicone aerogels with a robust “thick‐neck” architecture. By exploiting the reactivity disparity of precursors, flexible segments are uniformly embedded within a rigid skeleton.

In Situ Polyurea Integration for Self‐Healing, Durable Transparent Electromagnetic‐Interference Shielding Film

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A steric‐hindrance molecular engineering strategy uses dimethyl maleate (DMM) to convert poly(1,4‐butanediol) bis(4‐aminobenzoate) (PBDAB) into a precursor with reduced reactivity via Michael addition, thereby retarding the curing process to form a transparent, ultraflexible, and self‐healable secondary‑amine polyurea (PuSA) with a crosslinked network.

Fractal Metamaterial Absorber with Three-Order Oblique Cross Dipole Slot Structure and its Application for In-band RCS Reduction of Array Antennas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
To miniaturize the perfect metamaterial absorber, a fractal three-order oblique cross dipole slot structure is proposed and investigated in this paper. The fractal perfect metamaterial absorber (FPMA) consists of two metallic layers separated by a lossy ...

Spatially Separated Redox Centers in One‐Dimensional Sp2‐Carbon Covalent Organic Frameworks Enable Synergistic Photocatalytic Palladium Recovery and Bisphenol A Mineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A one‐dimensional sp2‐carbon covalent organic framework with spatially segregated redox centers integrates a dual photosensitizing system and a cationic interface for synergistic photocatalysis. The material achieves exceptional palladium recovery (1749 mg g−1) and bisphenol A mineralization (0.1710 min−1) without sacrificial agents, demonstrating ...

Modeling and Simulation of Automotive FMCW RADAR Sensor for Environmental Perception

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems
Frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radio detection and ranging (RADAR) sensors have become indispensable technologies for automated driving systems (ADS) due to their reliability in adverse weather conditions and their ability to simultaneously ...
