Phosphorus Vacancy‐Induced Built‐In Electric Field for Electromagnetic Properties Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The advantages of defect‐induced polarization resulting from group VA anion vacancies, particularly phosphorus vacancies (VP) are analyzed in comparison to the anion vacancies of other elements. P atoms possess both plentiful high‐energy unpaired valence electrons in 3p orbitals and moderate nonmetallicity, thus the selection of VP for regulating EM ...

HLA‐DR⁺ Tumor Cells Show an Association with a Distinct Immune Microenvironment and CD8⁺ T‐Cell Exhaustion in HBV‐Associated Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates scRNA‐seq, multiplex immunofluorescence, and clinical data to identify HLA‐DR⁺tumor cells uniquely enriched in Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with hepatitis B virus (HBV). These cells express MHC II, associate with PD‐L1, recruit and exhaust CD8⁺T cells, predict poor survival, and serve as potential biomarkers for immunotherapy ...

Multi-frequency fine resolution imaging radar instrumentation and data acquisition [PDF]

open access: yes
Development of a dual polarized L-band radar imaging system to be used in conjunction with the present dual polarized X-band radar is described. The technique used called for heterodyning the transmitted frequency from X-band to L-band and again ...

Dual‐Function Ceramic Pigments for Energy‐Efficient and Secure Autonomous Vehicles

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed and tested a vehicle pigment designed for enhanced LiDAR detectability and radiative cooling. By incorporating ceramic materials and employing numerical simulations, the pigment is designed to maximize its effectiveness. Consequently, this pigment enhances the safety of autonomous driving while mitigating interior temperature ...

Ocean waves near Hurricane Josephine from SIR-B [PDF]

open access: yes
Radar images of ocean surface waves near hurricane Josephine were acquired with the Shuttle Imaging Radar-B (SIR-B) system on October 12, 1984. Fast Fourier transform analyses of the images were performed along most of the 600-km image track.

BCG‐Derived Outer Membrane Vesicles Induce TLR2‐Dependent Trained Immunity to Protect Against Polymicrobial Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
B‐OMVs, nanoscale vesicles derived from BCG, are identified as effective and safe inducers of trained immunity that protect against sepsis. Through TLR2‐mediated metabolic and epigenetic reprogramming of hematopoietic stem cells, B‐OMVs enhance inflammatory response and phagocytic activity.

Necessity to adapt land use and land cover classification systems to readily accept radar data [PDF]

open access: yes
A hierarchial, four level, standardized system for classifying land use/land cover primarily from remote-sensor data (USGS system) is described. The USGS system was developed for nonmicrowave imaging sensors such as camera systems and line scanners.
