IMIKO-Radar: Interference Measurements of Today's Automotive Radar Sensors

2021 21st International Radar Symposium (IRS), 2021
The topic of interference mitigation in radar is an important point in automotive system development. More and more cars equipped with radar sensors are driving on the roads. Also more cars are equipped with more then one radar sensor. This leads to higher probability of radar interference.

Adversarial interference mitigation for automotive radar

2021 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf21), 2021
With the massive application of radars in autonomous driving, mutual interference between radars has be-come a key issue. Over the past decades, many approaches have been proposed to solve this problem in time domain, frequency domain and space domain. These methods are mostly model-based, whose performance may suffer from inaccurate modeling.

RADAR INTERFERENCE STUDY

1964
Abstract : The electrical signatures of a particular type of radar interference called angels were studied in detail during a three-year program using the radar facilities at Fort Dawes, Boston Harbor. The types studied were single angel, group angel, and misscellaneous.

Collision warning radar interference

Proceedings of the Intelligent Vehicles '95. Symposium, 2002
Collision warning radar is a potentially significant application of radar technology to the automotive market. In early stages of collision warning radar deployment, the likelihood of radar malfunction due to interference will be low. However, it is anticipated that as the number of fielded radars increases, systems designed without consideration of ...

Interference from HF Radar

1970
Abstract : Interference to communication reception near an HF radar is dependent on many factors. It is shown that the most important of these that can be controlled is the pulse shape of the radar. Under optimum conditions, acceptable reception should be possible with frequency separation as little as 21 kHz from the proposed radar.

Radar Architectures Against Coherent Interferers

2019 IEEE 5th International Workshop on Metrology for AeroSpace (MetroAeroSpace), 2019
A new architecture is conceived to face with the problem of target detection in the presence of possible structured jammers. Remarkably, from the point of view of radar metrology, such architecture can provide indirect measurements of the number of interfering signals, their direction of arrival and the power, which are used to solve a signal ...

Automotive radar interference test

2017 18th International Radar Symposium (IRS), 2017
Fully automated vehicles are currently under research and development and will become reality in the near future. Key enabling sensors in this area are automotive radars, which currently support driving comfort and crash prevention. These radars operate in the 24 GHz and 76–81 GHz bands as of today and occupy the spectrum heavily.

A compound interference with distributed interference and False track interference for radar networking

2012 3rd International Conference on System Science, Engineering Design and Manufacturing Informatization, 2012
Radar networking via various technical measures to improve the ability of the radar system of four anti-jam. Repressive noise because the need to launch multi -orient and large scope interference, power limits become a problem. In this paper on the basis of the characteristics of radar networking and interference power problem presents a measure ...

Cross-Channel Interference in Surveillance Radar Networks

2007 2nd IEEE International Workshop on Computational Advances in Multi-Sensor Adaptive Processing, 2007
In this paper we evaluate the impact of the presence of an interfering radar on the target direction of arrival (DOA) pseudo-monopulse and ML estimation performed by the reference radar. The importance of the use of codes in a radar network is highlighted in a simple scenario of two surveillance radars.

Statistical Analysis of Automotive Radar Interference

2020 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarConf20), 2020
This paper presents a statistical analysis of the radar detection characteristics of FMCW based automotive radar in the presence of FMCW interference. The characteristics of interference are investigated and compared with Gaussian noise by determining the distribution and probability of detection for different waveform parameters. The majority of cases
